Can't they do what they want with them?
Oh look at me! I'm breastfeeding my child! Ok, people have been doing that since the dawn of time. It doesn't make you special. I just dropped a big deuce in the bowl, should we have a "rally" for it? You people need a new hobby.
I breastfed twins...I should get a parade or something! LOL. I understand that it is what is best for baby, but some of these moms take it to the extreme. When I ran out of milk for my babies, I was also called a bad mom, told it was MY fault, along with many other things. I had nurses tell me that if I had just kept trying it would work itself out and that nature would take care of it. I went and bought formula and fed my babies because I KNEW they were NOT getting enough milk and would STARVE. It is a personal decision, no one should make you feel bad for making it. One way or the other.
I get tired of people flaunting it in your face. I waited tables and this woman had her 2 yr old on her lap breast feeding while she was hunched over shoveling food in with a table full of 16 yr old boys near her. She got angry and complained they were staring...16 yr old boys don't care what the breast is doing they will stare! Cover up or go somewhere private!!!! I don't care how natural it is...so is sex but I don't want to see it while I am eating!
how is it flaunting it to feed a child ....last time i checked feeding a child was simply just feeding a child and if people would teach their children that breasts aren't just sex objects the 16 yr old boys wouldn't stare and comparing sex/urinating/defecating or any other bodily function and breast feeding a child just makes you look very ignorant and very uneducated
How is it not? I used to waiteress 20 years and ALOT of women would make it in to a huge production. Because I see things a different way Oh I must be ignorant or stupid? I have never asked for it to be banned just for women to be a little respectful of others? I guess that must be it. The only way to feed a child is to breastfeed? Get over yourself. I am sick to death of all these people who don't take others feelings in to consideratioin. That is why the world is like it is. People feel they are entitled to do as they please and to hell with anyone else. WELL WHEN EVERYONE FEELS LIKE THAT THEN THE PROBLEMS ARISE!!! When ever I say that something about it people reply with but it is a natural function in life...I don't care so are a lot of things but when I am paying good money for a meal I am sick to death of people who use the it takes a village to raise a child crap to the extreme. I guess because it is ok for you that it should be ok for everyone else? well it is not! I would like to know how many 16 yr olds think of breasts as anything but...why because they are 16! and I am sorry if you compare sex to urinating and defecating remember it is just a natural function in life!
Sex and breast feeding are completely not even close to the same ranking. The baby was eating and so was she. However, if she were being discreet most people would not have noticed. I've nursed and I've bottle fed and never had issues with staring. I'd feed my babies wherever they became hungry. I don't understand what people's hang ups are. Don't look.
and comments like these are the reason that that we will continue to strive to normalize breast feeding and ladydye_5 i am very sorry that you were told told that by people they were very wrong and you are an amazing mom for giving it your all it is never easy
I did give it my all. I was trying to breast feed twins while only weighing 110#. My doctor told my I did not have enough body fat to make or store milk. The breast feeding nurses told me all kinds of crazy things to do and to just let my babies cry and it would "MAKE" my body produce milk. I hung up on them. My mother and I added it up, I was making over a gallon of milk in less than 12 hours at a time. I could NOT keep up. I lasted about 4 weeks. I ate, slept, and sat either with babies or a pump hooked to me. I also fed my babies in public but was discreet about it. There are so many blankets and covers you can use, there no need to just "whip it out for everyone to see". You can be proud and discreet at the same time. It is sad to say but in America it is hard for 16 year old boys to distinguish between sexual images and feeding an infant the way nature intended.
Women use to have self respect and breat feed their children, so their children would be healthy. Now it is a political statement? Not every normal body function should be displayed to the public, to make some stupid point.
I am truly so sorry for the women who are upset at the event that took place this past Saturday. The Big Latch on is a global event that happens all around the world, in hopes to help women who may lack the support or proper information on breastfeeding. I look at these pictures and not see one breast "whipped out" yet I see a lot of negative comments surrounding it. The truth is most women use covers and are discreet about it...and for once was able to be surrounded by women doing the same thing and were able to feel free to feed their babies without the use of a cover or behind a closed door. They were not in a restaurant, nor a grocery store or at the mall.....just a small park a ways off the street that even passer by's could not see anything. I truly apologize for any women who feel hurt by the event, who feel it is political, who have turned away there meal because of it....all these women were doing was finding support in one another on how they choose and are able to feed their children. Let's not loose the site of that simplicity...it was nothing more than that.
i breast feed in public all the time i have only ever had positive comments made to me sure people some times stare because its something that you don't see often but i definitely don't whip out my breasts for everyone to see but i dont use a cover or a blanket either but that isn't the issue at all the issue is that people have a problem with breast feeding only because the milk comes out of a breast no one has a problem with bottle feeding because that is now the norm if people really accepted breast feeding like they say they do then they wouldnt say breast feeding is the best BUT.......its just sad that feeding a child has become something people need to argue about when there are children without food and being abused why can't we all just be happy that these children are fed happy and healthy and unite against the evil in the world we live in and focus our energy on making a better future for our children
I guess the only way to unite is if everyone feels like you huh...
Little disappointed...I was expecting to see 100s of pics of all 60 mothers with their boobs out in a giant circle singing kum ba yah...Thanks for the let down Norwalk Reflector!
There is no issue with breast feeding as far as I am concerned. Certain women in this town have made it an issue, but being radical about it. Just take care of your babies and forget making a statement about it.
