Nine Norwalk firefighters were called to the Aldi grocery store at 195 Milan Ave. at 1:46 p.m. Monday to investigate a possible fire.

Upon arrival, firefighters discovered light smoke at the ceiling level inside the store and a heat source coming from the ventilation system on the roof. The smoke was coming from a rooftop air-handling unit, the motor of which had froze, causing it to overheat and burn up, Dickerson said. The fire was out, and then power was shut off to that unit. The store’s manager was told to contact company maintenance personnel to fix the problem. Firefighters ventilated the store and then returned to the station at 2:30 p.m.

I'm so disappointed. They have a $900,000 ladder truck, and they climb up on an extention ladder like the one I have in my garage?

Can't use the big truck...gas too expensive to drive it. Just have to pull it out and back it in so it looks like it's been used. Then waste 250 gallons of water to make it look pretty washing it.
