A number of local companies were honored Friday afternoon at the 2012 Norwalk Economic Development Corp. annual luncheon at Norwalk Custom Order Furniture. Look for a story on the front page of Saturday's Reflector.
Glad to see they enjoy a nice lunch while the average working man in Norwalk is starving for lack of a good job.
This was an event celebrating the accomplishments of people who actually got off their butts and did something for the community, including creating jobs. When the day comes that we stop recognizing people for taking risks and being successful then we might as well forget America as we know it. I know things are tough, but making snarky comments about people trying to do something about it says more about your character than you may have wanted to reveal.
The formula is pretty simple:
No capital investment = no employers = no jobs.
Private capital has been seeping and fleeing from Norwalk for decades. Be thankful for what ya got.
Besides, nationally, Mr. Bernanke's ZIRP policies are sacrificing savers for the greater good of the economy.
The result is less savings and investment for capital formation.
Can anyone tell me how many new jobs were created and what the positions were?
The story was in the NR and might 'partially' answer your question.
