GREENWICH TOWNSHIP — The Ohio State Highway Patrol’s Norwalk Post is investigating a single-vehicle crash that occurred early Friday morning just after midnight.

The crash occurred on Town Line Road 12 at Rome Greenwich Road in Greenwich Township.

A 2006 Chevrolet, driven by Kyle L. Vogel, of Greenwich, sustained disabling damage in the crash and was towed from the scene by Wilcox Towing.

Vogel sustained non-life threatening injuries in the crash and was flown from the scene to Cleveland Metro Health Medical Center.

Vogel was eastbound on Town Line Road 12 and he failed to yield at a stop sign. His car struck a guardrail and a tree then struck a ditch before coming to final rest in the creek. Vogel, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was ejected from the vehicle.

Alcohol and speed are suspected to be factors in the crash.

Assisting agencies include Huron County Sheriff’s Department, Greenwich Township Fire Dept., Life Flight, North Central EMS, Firelands EMS and Wilcox Towing.
