Sunday was a great day for Norwalk's First Presbyterian Church and for the Joe and Michelle Myers family, as land was dedicated for the Myers family's new Habitat home.
First Presbyterian Church members embarked last spring on a successful mission to raise money for a Habitat Build. By summer's end, they reached their goal and now a chosen family looks forward to a new home.
The lot at 3 Fuller Dr. was the site. The Rev. Adrian Doll of First Presbyterian blessed the land. The church's Habitat Committee, Habitat Director Linda Francisco also a member of First Presbyterian Habitat board members, other Habitat families and church members met after worship to celebrate this mission.
Francisco welcomed the crowd and introduced Habitat board member Keith Squires, of Willard, who said he was happy to see partner families there attending the blessing. Carol Klein, another Presbyterian Habitat worker who is on the family selection committee, introduced Michelle and Joe Myers and their children, Joey, 12; Melanie, 11; Sarah, 8; and twin boys, Marshall and Michael, 7.
