Since the beginning of the summer, new street-number signs have been appearing on the businesses uptown. It would hardly bear notice, but there are two competing designs. One is sponsored by the Main Street organization, the other is proposed by Stan Obrenovich.
Of course, many downtown areas get along quite well without any matching number signs, it does look a little goofy to decide to go for a unified look and then have two competing unified looks. Still, at the end of the day, so what? No one is going to say, "Well, if these people can't get their act together on a number sign, then I'm taking my shopping dollars elsewhere!"
