WILLARD Residents can kick away the winter blues by thinking ahead to spring, which is when city manager Brian Humphress hopes the city's planned soccer complex will be ready.
Humphress said the city is about $13,000 short of raising the necessary funds to pay for the complex. It will be located at the corner of Townline Road 12 and Keefer Street, on roughly 10 acres of previous farmland.
The city is not using any of its money to pay for the field. Rather, $100,000 came from grants and the other $77,000 came from donations. So far, about $177,600 has been raised toward the effort.
