After a couple weeks off, Norwalk city council is back at it again tonight. Council will hold its reorganizational meeting at 7:30 p.m. today and will follow that up with a work session at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday. Tonight, council members will be sworn in and that includes new member Harry Brady.

A Norwalk Municipal Court jury was unable to come up with a verdict Thursday for a Norwalk mother accused of driving intoxicated with her three children in her car. Mimi L. Lee, 33, of 18 Cline St., was charged with driving under the influence (DUI), DUI refusal and endangering children. The seven-woman, one-man jury deliberated for about four hours after Norwalk Assistant Law Director T. Douglas Clifford and defense attorney Jim Martin presented their closing arguments Thursday morning.

Former Willard wrestling coach Todd Fox isn't being taken to the mat without a fight. Fox, who coached from 1999 until he submitted his resignation Feb. 6, has filed a lawsuit against two parents of a bullied wrestler. The couple, who couldn't be reached for comment, is not being named in order to protect the identity of their son.

Dispatcher and EMT-B Carol Alms has been selected by her co-workers as the 2009 North Central EMS (NCEMS) Employee of the Year. Alms joined NCEMS in 1990 as an EMT-B, and currently holds the position of full-time dispatcher. The employee of the year award has been presented to the selected candidate at a company dinner for the past 24 years. It has always been selected by the employees. "When an employee receives recognition from their peers it really makes a statement as to how appreciated that person is," NCEMS Executive Director Don Ballah said. "Carol has earned this award and it was an honor to present it to her." Alms lives in Norwalk with her husband Brian and son Jakob.

The Bronson Township Trustees will hold a special meeting at 9 a.m. Jan. 18 at the township building. The purpose of the meeting is to appropriate funds for the year 2010. Trustees will continue to hold their regular monthly meetings at 7:30 p.m. on the last Wednesday of the month. All meetings will be held at the township building at the corner of Dublin and Old State Roads.

For the sixth straight year, the Norwalk Parks and Recreation Department will offer area residents the chance to count down to the new year in an alcohol-free, drug-free, tobacco-free, but not fun-free, environment. The event, called Family First Night, will feature bounce houses, swimming, door prizes, basketball, bingo, poker, snacks and a big-screen television showing the ball dropping live at Times Square.

A structure fire destroyed a rural Norwalk mobile home Monday night. "Seventy percent of the structure was fully involved upon arrival. No occupants were inside at the onset of the fire,' Norwalk Fire Lt. Rick Perry said in his report.

COLLINS - Rodge Wilson was hired Monday night as the new superintendent of the Western Reserve Local Schools district. Wilson has been the interim superintendent, taking over for Doug Solet, who was terminated in October.
