I encourage Huron County voters to strongly support and vote for Chuck Furey in the Huron County commissioners race. Chuck has been a friend, counselor and colleague for many years and is without a doubt an excellent candidate with a wide range of business and finance skills. In business life, Chuck was the vice-president and regional manager for corporate banking with National City Bank. Through his position he was responsible for more than $450 million coming to the area for commercial loans, which through his efforts has helped Huron County grow.

The photo was sent to me as an e-mail attachment. It shows a vehicle that would never have been invented if madmen were not loose in the world. The rear half of the vehicle in question bears a resemblance to a Chevy Suburban. But the fenders and undercarriage are covered with armor, as is the entire extended hood and front fenders. A rod carrying a rectangular black sensor of some sort protrudes 10 feet ahead from the front bumper. Another antenna or sensor sticks straight up from just behind the rear window. On top is more armor and what looks to be a crow's nest of some sort. The truck has huge tires with heavy treads, and it is painted the same brown color as the desert through which it is driving.

NEW LONDON - New London is a very small town, but it can boast of three healthcare professionals, each of whom has served the community for many years. Chiropractor Mike Collins has worked in the village for 33 years, he has raised his family there and both his wife and daughter are involved in his practice. He likes the obvious advantages of a small town, such as no traffic jams, knowing almost everyone and being able to treat "friends and neighbors."

It's been a bad winter so far, worse than most, and still a long time before spring. If the cold, snow, bitter winds, and ice are starting to get you down, there's really only one choice - head south, and for most of us, that means Florida. But it's a big state, and the question is: where should you go? I've covered this long state from top to bottom, fishing for bass in swamps and blackfin tuna off Key West, and since I love saltwater fishing the place that draws me back is territory along the west coast from Sarasota south. There's good fishing and lots to do, both for you and the family.
