NORWALK — Richard B. Hauser, 64, of Norwalk, Ohio, died Sunday, January 29, 2012 in Fisher-Titus Medical Center. 

He  was born July 22, 1947 in Cleveland, Ohio and lived in the Willard, Ohio and Norwalk, Ohio areas most of his life.

Richard was a 1965 graduate of Willard High School, a 1969 graduate of Bluffton College, and received his Law Degree from Ohio Northern University in 1972. He served the community as Richard B. Hauser Attorney at Law, Willard, Ohio, and was the former Huron County Prosecutor for several years.

He was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church, Norwalk, Ohio, the Huron County Bar Association, Norwalk Elks, Willard American Legion, Eagles Aerie #711, Willard Masonic Lodge. Richard was the Chairman of the Huron County Democratic Party and served on the board of the Huron County Board of Developmental Disabilities.  He loved cars, traveling, going to Las Vegas, talking politics, and tinkering. 

Richard is survived by his wife, Cathy E. (Ward) Hauser of Norwalk, Ohio, by his children, Ronald Hauser of Lima, Ohio, Nichole and Kevin Sandy of Cincinnati, Ohio, Rebecca and David Tat of Fayetteville, North Carolina, by his step son and daughter in law, Bradley and Angie Winkle of Wakeman, Ohio, and by his step daughter, Shannon Winkle of Collins, Ohio.  He is also survived by his grandchildren, Jade, Kaitlyn, and Madison, by his step grandchildren, Taylor and Erica, by his mother, Clara A. Hauser Lahr of Port Richey, Florida, by his sister and brother in law, Carol A. and Gary Holden of Huron, Ohio, and by two nephews and a niece. Richard was preceded in death by his father, Robert B. Hauser in 1993. 

Friends may call on Thursday, February 2, 2012 from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. in Walker Funeral Home, 98 West Main Street, Norwalk, Ohio. Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 3, 2012 at 10:30 a.m in St. Peter Lutheran Church, 243 Benedict Avenue, Norwalk, Ohio. Rev. Roger Harms and Rev. Fred Wiechers will officiate.  Interment will be in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Willard, Ohio.
