Glenn Beck says not to look for 2012 Beck-Palin ticket

Glenn Beck and Sarah Palin had a message to deliver that the nation was at a dire crossroads, and thousands showed up Saturday at the National Mall to receive it. But Sunday, Beck reiterated that the pair would not join forces in 2012, leading a national ticket for president and vice president.

"Not a chance," Beck said in an appearance on "Fox News Sunday," on the same network that broadcasts the radio and TV host's daily show. "I have no desire to be president of the United States. Zero desire. I don't think that I would be electable."

He added: "And there are far too many people that are far smarter than me to be president."

Palin, whose appearance on the National Mall came nearly two years to the day after she was introduced as John McCain's running mate, told Politico in a brief interview that she and Beck "like what we're doing now." However, Palin, who resigned after two years as Alaska's governor, is widely presumed to have national political ambitions.

Estimates of the crowd size at Saturday's "Restoring Honor" rally at the Lincoln Memorial vary. A CBS News count based on aerial photography pegged attendance at 87,000. Organizers said it was closer to 500,000, and Rep. Michele Bachmann, R-Minn., chairwoman of the congressional Tea Party Caucus, argued it approached 1 million.

Beck stirred controversy with his choice of date and location for the rally, which coincided with the anniversary of the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr.'s "I Have a Dream" speech at the Lincoln Memorial. Beck called it a coincidence and "divine providence."

He continued to downplay the notion that Saturday's demonstration had political intent. Still, he said a mass gathering like that spoke to the fact that Americans were concerned over the direction of the nation.

"You don't get that many people to come to Washington and stand there and have that kind of a moment without signs, without any political messages, for no reason," he said in the Fox interview. That's "the first message" that politicians should get, he said. "People aren't really happy with things."

Beck also said he regretted but would not retract his controversial statement from 2009 saying Obama had "a deep-seated hatred for white people."

"It was poorly said. I have a big fat mouth sometimes and I say things," he said, "and that's just not the way people should behave. And it was not accurate."

Lets get educated about the Left/Right paradigm. Its a system of illusion meant to make you think you have a choice. Lets put independents and libertarians in the white house and congress if we want to have ANY hope of CHANGE. "Oh, but if I vote 3rd party / Independent, I'm throwing my vote away!" Stop listening to propaganda generated to keep you in line and voting the way they want you to vote. THE ONLY WAY TO NOT THROW YOUR VOTE AWAY IS TO VOTE INDEPENDENTLY ON ISSUES AND TO VOTE FOR THOSE WHO UPHOLD THE CONSTITUTION.

Hi, Dave! Why do you love Fox? The blonde bimbos? Fox blatantly reports false stories, then retracts them. As you know, they can't unring the bell. Fox spins everything to cater to the far right. Yes, I do watch. Remember "know the enemy"? Then you have msnbc pretending to cater to the left. It's like WWE. BillO and KeithO probably play golf together. Enjoy the holiday weekend.

First off I'm not a Rep. or a Dem. Both parties have gone amuck! I am an INDEPENDENT thinker who is sick of both sides and really sick of Liberals who want the Government to give them more more more... For crying out loud why don't we do like Americans use to do......work for what you get and if you want more, work harder. We are taxed to death to pay for all the freebees the government hands out. Everytime the government gives you something... someone had to pay for it... that would be "the working class".... As for Beck... He's just trying to educate you on what is going on... you of course close your minds to EVERYTHING he says. Granted he's not 100% right about it all as NO ONE IS. You should always separate the wheat from the chaff. Sarah Palin sold the governors jet, she let the cook go and did that job herself, she sold the lemo and used her own personal car when she was Gov.. So why are you all so angry at her. I wish more government workers would do what they could to save the taxpayers money. The President we have now is flying more than any other president in our history and his wife thinks our tax dollars is her personal banking account so she can fly around. How many vacations does our president and his wife and family need a year? How many do you get? But hey, if you love this president we have now then by all means vote him in again in 2012... I myself hope we get someone who is willing to lead us not abuse us, and stops the hand outs, and most of all I would love to see someone run for President of America that TELLS THE TRUTH...and also one who will shrink the size of this overbearing government we have now. Now all this would be refreshing! For God sake I don't want any lawyers!!!!!

I would love to see Beck or Palin run! That would be the best news for President Obama, he would be re-elected in a land-slide. Beck is a joke, and Palin is a sad joke.

FST underestimates the stupidity of the American voter. Republican administration caused multiple problems, Democrats promised change but were blocked by Republicans now Republicans attack them for not changing anything. It's all a show, they are all on the same side and it isn't ours. Palin and Beck are both entertainers who are not qualified or smart enough to be President so of course they are the perfect candidates.

Find it interesting how most in the GOP put distance between McCain years ago. Many know that McCain (while many don't agree with him) is a decent human being, Then when McCain ran 4office the GOP endorsed him. hmmm. They are all dirty- - - some just more so than others.

@ FST: Only hope for the country? Mr. Obama and his cronies are clueless: Politically, economically and socially. DC political gridlock begins in Jan - 'then' there might be some hope. The U.S. is far greater than the Washington beltway politicos with their one-size-fits-all regulatory and let’s-try-this-program-and-see-what-happens nonsense.

wow fst has all the answers in one small paragraph. Republicans liars...Im sure there are some. But lets not forget the biggest liar more recently. Obama. The man ran on so many issues that he promised change on and then did a turn about, and did the complete opposite. Bottom line, people voted for Obama because he is the symbol of handouts, redistribution of wealth and the government taking care of you. Believe all you want FST, but Obama and the Dems have NOTHING to run on this November. Healthcare.....a huge FINANCIAL JOKE.....the STIMULUS PACKAGE.....maybe even BIGGER. The only thing they have left to say is "its Bush's fault", and that about gets them as far as a penny would in todays world, its old and it doesnt work anymore. Im not putting all the blame on him, but spending like no other president ever has in a historic amount (or lack of) time, not doing what he promised he would do, when he spoke of change will lead to him not being re-elected. He is more worried about speeches, TV shows, outings, vacations than this country. He had a chance to come in, cut out the pork, cut back the spending and get this country back on track. Instead he wants higher taxes for everyone, and yes everyone will see higher taxes next year, the wealthy to take care of the less fortunate and for everyone to just hold on to his words because they will eventually get you a job.

I agree that Obama made a lot of promises about changes and not many of them have happened YET. But since the day he was sworn into office, the Republicans have fought EVERY promise he has tried to keep. That is why it has taken so long for Obama to get anything done and why it is costing so much. Everytime Obama tries to get a bill passes, the republicans fight it until he agrees to add a bunch of crap onto it. Who ever thinks this country doesn`t need an overhaul of our medical and financial systems is a fool. And I agree that Bush gets blamed for a lot of the mess we are in,but when Clinton was in office, things were starting to go better for this country. Then came the Bush family and their GOB system and the corruption ran rampent until we got them out. Granted, the mess this country is in started a long time ago,but the Bush`s took great advantage of the broken system for their own gain then left like they did nothing wrong. THAT is why Bush gets blamed for much of what we are dealing with now. Obama isn`t perfect, but at least he is working for EVERYBODY in this country and not just his buddies and the rich. My family has always voted Republican until the Bush era. Half went Democrat. The rest changed to Democrat when they realized all the lies and scare tactics the republicans and Fox were doing to stop badly need changes in our system. Now we are ALL Democrats.

Thank goodness he isn`t running for office. You think we have liers and corruption in government now. Even as crazy and out of touch as Glen Beck is,even he knows the Prez. is powerless over our most corrupt and useless Congress. He also knows the Republicans are grasping at straws just to keep followers. It`s too bad the Republicans have to lower themselves to lies and scare tactics to make it look like they know how to fix the problems THEY got us into over the mighty buck$. Many people voted for John McCain and now look..he can`t even run his own state right. I don`t believe we`ll see a Republican in top office for many years because the people can`t believe or trust what they say or do. I don`y care what anybody says,I still believe that Obama is the only hope this country has of staying the greatest country in the world and making the people of this fine country a prioriety and not just a way to make their bank accounts bigger.
