Fire guts concession stand at Summit Motorsports Park

A fire this morning gutted a concession stand at Summit Motorsports Park.
Park president Bill Bader Jr. said Norwalk fighter John Soisson was investigating the fire and no cause has been determined.
The building is a complete loss, Bader said.
The building housed a food stand, a drink stand and Wild Bill's Ice Cream Saloon -- made famous by the $1-a-pound ice cream.
The buildings to each side of the concession stand -- a local parts store and a souvenir shop -- were not damaged in the fire.
"We'll have to tear it all down," Bader said, noting the track is hosting a big money three-day bracket race beginning at 9 a.m. Friday.
While the firefighters were still cleaning up Bader and his crew were making arrangements for portable food stands to be in place by Friday morning.
"It's always something," Bader said as he shook his head.
Bader said things could have been worse, and credited the Norwalk Fire Department with quick action.
"(Chief Doug) Coletta and his crew did a great job," Bader said. "They work with us and cover for our races. They always do a great job."
The next big event at Summit after this weekend is the 13th Annual Mopar World Finals Sept. 17 to 19.

So I was curious if anyone possibly found a mopar t-shirt at the Summit that weekend. I took it off and put on a sweatshirt and When I came home I didn't have it. I'm pretty sure I left it in the upper rows. The shirt is the exact one that is on this website. It's the shirt in the upper right hand corner of the page: mopar t shirts. This shirt has sentimental value, if anyone picked it up, please let me know!08:48 AM
