Drunk driver strikes two telephones pole, sign

A local man was charged with operating under the influence (OVI) and failure to control following an accident in a Huron County village.
The accident occurred a little after 6:30 p.m. on on Walnut Street in New London. Benjamin F. Jenkins, 53, of 154 Williams St., Apt. E, New London, was not injured after he struck two telephone poles, severing one of them, and struck a street sign, knocking it off its post.
New London Police Sgt. Joe Hicks said an area resident witnessed the accident.

good observation, BUT in New London, some of the older poles only handle 2 telephones... so the headline is actually correct, they mentioned the one pole for the two telephones... and they mentioned the sign.. they just did not include the other pole, and how many telephones were connected to that pole...maybe you just forgot that????lol10:04 AM
