An area teenager accused of inappropriately touching four girls now faces felony charges after being indicted by a Huron County grand jury.
Lawrence A. Hoffman, 18, of 400 E. Steeplechase Ave., Bellevue, was one of 10 defendants indicted on felony charges Friday. He was charged with two counts of gross sexual imposition and one charge of public indecency in connection with several incidents at his Cleveland Road apartment.
A police report indicates all the suspected victims are girls who are 5, 7, 8 and 10 and were interviewed by the Bellevue Police Department and Huron County Children Services.
Hoffman, during one of the interviews, told authorities "he has a tendency of touching girls in awkward places," according to the police report. He admitted to "having some sexual experiences" with two Bellevue girls, ages 5 and 8, in the spring, police said.
The suspect said he played "the sex game" with the girls multiple times under the covers in his bed while the lights were off, police said. Hoffman said he was "real nervous" doing "the sex game" with one of the girls the first time, but he enjoyed it the second and third time, according to the report.
Afterward, Hoffman said the "two girls undressed themselves in front of him and were in his room completely naked" when the lights were on and he put the 8-year-old girl on his lap, according to the report.
The 10-year-old girl reported Hoffman exposed himself to her three times and he "looked down her panties" during the summer, the report said. She also said she witnessed the man reportedly put his hands down the 7-year-old girl's pants.
During this interview, Officer Steve Nunez was advised there were two other complainants in the lobby of the police station who wanted to report similar incidents involving Hoffman. Nunez contacted Children Services to assist in interviewing the girls.
The 7-year-old girl's mother said her daughter accused Hoffman of touching her inappropriately while he was baby-sitting her and the 10-year-old girl after their fathers had been arguing, police said. The suspected incident happened in the spring when the younger girl was bouncing on Hoffman's bed.
One victim said another girl "pretended she was a stripper and danced for Hoffman," police said. The same girl also said the man reportedly pulled down his pants in front of both of them.
On Monday, four days after the interviews with Hoffman, the girls and their parents, a man came to the station and accused Hoffman of sexually abusing another girl who is 10. Police advised Children Services, whose employees wanted to re-interview one of the other girls for an unspecified reason and the fifth girl.
Hoffman must post a $30,500 bond before being released from the Huron County Jail.

Huron county is a small portion of the whole world. The world, society and people's morality is in a mess. Children of the "me" generation have grown up and now drive to do the mischief they learned while their parents were both working. or while the single mom was absent, or while the parents were free to explore "who they are". If I tell you the problem is caused by taking God out of school and society, you will probably get angry and call me a Nazi or brainwashed or an idiot to believe in God or a Savior Jesus Christ. Some have ridiculed having moral standards as taking freedoms away from society. Some have said people that believe in God have an invisible play mate. But, having no moral standard, no accountability to authority and refusing to acknowledge God as a greater power than mankind, that is the problem with society and Huron County.12:20 PM

@commonsense: Read a book entitled 'The Great Plains' ( I think,that's the name) and in it a lady living in north-central Kansas recounts how in 1935 a local man was hung for molesting a child.This was his second oFFense, for his first he spent time in prison.This,in 1935, was so unheard of that her parents couldn't decide if they should pay respects to the dead man's parents at his wake.Finally,her Dad said they should,because inspite of his strong feelings of rejection----towards the entire family---the dead man's father was indeed a good man,so they did go to the wake
In reading both your posts,first let me say,it is very hard for me,to want someones child put to death.So,my true feelings are for a lengthy prison stint.However, shame and embarrasment seem to be 'lost art's' in today's America,are they not? So I think,you could add those to your first post as way's to help America,would you agree?
I'd also,say that execution's aren't always the best solution,however they do stop repeat oFFenders and rather than 'registering' child molester's,I sure would be all for 'repeaters' demise
