CSIers, mark your calendars for the season premiere

There's good news and there's bad news.

First the good stuff. Marg Helgenberger, on "her" unofficial fan-based Facebook page, announced this today: "It's official. CSI returns on Thursday, September 23, 2010!"

Woo-hoo! Let the good times roll!

'Batman' '89 beginning blogged

I decided I needed to put my money where my mouth is. Having become a recent advocate for critics (and fans) taking an open-minded look at a film they haven't seen in a while, I decided to do the same thing with "Batman" (PG-13, 1989).

I hadn't seen all of Tim Burton's film since I sold my VHS tape months ago. There's no excuse since my fellow Batfan David gave me the "Batman Movie Anthology: 1989-1997"!

'Batman: RIP' storyline review (conclusion) (CCC fashback)

Just when Grant Morrison's story seems like it's going fairly straightforward, he throws us a curveball. In the next two issues, the reader is forced to understand what's happening by making his or her own conclusions based on a combination of what's happened beforehand and the characters' comments. The result is similar to experiencing a vague sense of clarity, much like the withdrawal from the crystal meth and heroin imposed upon Bruce Wayne.

CARY'S COMICS CRAZE - June might be expensive for Batfans

Dark Knight fans, I hope you have deeeeep pockets in June.

DC Comics released its June solicitations (aka promos for upcoming issues)this week and there's just a ton of potentially great Batman material coming out. After these solicitations (cut and pasted here for your convenience), find out my spoiler-ish thoughts on the new Batman, who Red Robin might be and the character taking over DETECTIVE COMICS:

CARY'S COMICS CRAZE - Marvel Studios presses ‘shuffle’

Selfishly, I was quite pleased in early May 2008 when three Marvel Comics properties I knew could be Hollywood gold were revealed to be the next projects by Marvel Studios to get the green light.

(For the record, I’ve been pulling for Captain America, Thor and The Avengers to get the Hollywood treatment since about two years ago in my “Cary’s Comics Craze” column.)

So when I heard films based on those same characters would follow “Iron Man 2” in the summers of 2010 and 2011, I was ecstatic – as were millions of other fanboys.

Langston to do the CSI 'triple crown'

No, this is not about a horse race. It's about Laurence Fishburne's character doing the first-ever triple crossover on "CSI"!

The big, interconnected storyline starts tonight (!) at 10 PM on "CSI: Miami," continues into "CSI: New York" (10 PM Wednesday) and wraps up in the standard "CSI" (9 PM Thursday).

Should the city spend $5,000 or more to relocate the playgroup equipment at Sofios Park?
