Maybe my prediction WAAAAY back on Jan. 11, 2006 is true: The Joker's girlfriend, Harley Quinn, might be in this summer's surefire blockbuster, "The Dark Knight."

Selfishly, I was quite pleased in early May 2008 when three Marvel Comics properties I knew could be Hollywood gold were revealed to be the next projects by Marvel Studios to get the green light.

One thing to keep in mind when you read these reviews: I was writing these as I read the issues.

Just when Grant Morrison's story seems like it's going fairly straightforward, he throws us a curveball.

“The problem with comic book stores is (they’re) self-limiting,” comics writer Gerry Conway told me during our June 22 interview.

“You already have to be a (comic book) reader to go into a comic book store because you have to want to get a comic book.”

There's good news and there's bad news.

First the good stuff. Marg Helgenberger, on "her" unofficial fan-based Facebook page, announced this today: "It's official. CSI returns on Thursday, September 23, 2010!"

Woo-hoo! Let the good times roll!

I decided I needed to put my money where my mouth is. Having become a recent advocate for critics (and fans) taking an open-minded look at a film they haven't seen in a while, I decided to do the same thing with "Batman" (PG-13, 1989).

That's right, CSIers, producer Carol Mendelsohn told EW columnist Brian Ausiello "the theme of (season 10) is family." "The Ausiello Files" interview — which also includes feedback from producer Naren Shankar — appeared in the July 31 edition of EW.

Well, I guess producer Carol Mendelsohn was serious about this season being about family. It looks like Langston has "daddy issues" and has been researching his father's violent tendencies. Thinking back, that was teased to in last week's show (or was that the premiere?).

11:35 AM Jun 4, 2010

Remember when I blogged last week about producer Carol Mendelsohn's vision for season 10 being about family?

11:33 AM Jun 4, 2010

This was probably the best show this season. I have to say the racial tension was hard to watch and even though the team determined the officer didn't shoot the off-duty black cop in cold blood, the positive resolution was a bit of a letdown.
