Israeli American Council lauds new coach of Cleveland Cavaliers

David Blatt was officially introduced as the new Cleveland Cavaliers head coach this afternoon.

“On behalf of all Israelis in the United States, we congratulate David Blatt as he becomes the first Israeli-American head coach in the NBA, and wish him much success,” said Shawn Evenhaim, chairman of the Israeli American Council (IAC), the largest Israeli American organization in the U.S.

“Many Israeli-Americans are NBA fans and David will no doubt bring more Israeli-American fans to the game and even more pride to the Israeli-American community,” Evenhaim added. “David exemplifies a leader whose experiences and values stand for the best of Israel and of the United States. He has contributed so much to basketball in both countries and has reached a remarkable milestone with his new appointment.”
