A-Rod Takes Home Off Market
When the luxury real estate market in South Florida started getting hot, Alex Rodriguez decided to list his museum-quality modern waterfront home for sale for $38 million. Then came a disastrous post-season for the Yankees third baseman, who it was discovered had damage to his left hip.
With surgery performed this week in New York, the future Hall-of-Fame slugger decided the best place to rehab would be … right … recovering in his $38 million listing. A-Rod has reportedly taken his 9-bedroom, 13-bathroom custom-built house off the market and will now concentrate on his recovery.
No doubt the swimming pool, state-of-the-art gym and batting cage at the Miami Beach beauty will come in handy for A-Rod, who won’t be back on the field for the Yankees until July.
Kelly Ripa On The Move
Kelly Ripa and her husband Mark Consuelos are looking to change things up – at least when it comes to where they live. The lively talk show hostess and her sometimes co-host hubby have listed their SoHo penthouse in New York City for $24.5 million. The couple bought the place in 2005 for $9 million, then spent 2 years transforming the place with a total renovation.
Even by New York standards, this is a pretty steep price point. Then again, this is not your average apartment, topping off at a whopping 6,792 square feet over 5 bedrooms and 4.5 baths – not including the 2,500-square foot terrace. This luxury residence is certainly fit for a queen of afternoon TV, or, whoever takes it off her hands.
Turnover Central at Ashton’s Bachelor Pad
It seems that Ashton Kutcher’s former Beverly Glen home in Los Angeles can’t find a permanent owner. The 4-bedroom, open-floor-plan abode, which was completely renovated by Kutcher and his dad back in 2004, is back on the market for $2.585 million just 18 months after Kutcher sold it in June 2011 for $2.35 million.
Kutcher isn’t likely going to go backwards, however. He bought a stunning new, modern bachelor pad overlooking Lake Hollywood last year after his breakup with wife Demi Moore.
Holy House Sale, Batman & Ronnie!
Not one, but two Hollywood icons have had their former homes listed.
“Batman” star Adam West’s soothing midcentury modern in Palm Springs is for sale for $1.5 million. West lives in Idaho, but the Palm Springs residence was his Bat Cave for many years.
Meanwhile, the Pacific Palisades former home of President Ronald Reagan has been listed for $4.99 million. According to Nancy Reagan, it was in this home at 1669 San Onofre Drive where her husband took a concession phone call from President Jimmy Carter in 1980 before the selling the home in 1981 to move to something a little bigger: The White House.
