M'ville senior dies after skiing mishap

MONROEVILLE An 18-year-old Bellevue resident and Monroeville High School senior died today after sustaining injuries in a skiing accident during a senior class trip to New York. "I and the Monroeville Local School District mourn the loss of Gregg Jacobs, who passed away today," Superintendent Carol Girton said in a prepared statement.

MONROEVILLE An 18-year-old Bellevue resident and Monroeville High School senior died today after sustaining injuries in a skiing accident during a senior class trip to New York.

"I and the Monroeville Local School District mourn the loss of Gregg Jacobs, who passed away today," Superintendent Carol Girton said in a prepared statement.

"Our hearts go out to his family, friends and classmates in the school district and specifically, his classmates in the Future Farmers of America for their loss. Not only will Gregg be missed by us, but I am sure by the many people who knew him through the community service projects of which he was a part," the superintendent wrote.

The trip to Peek 'n Peak, located in the southern tier of western New York, lasted Wednesday to Friday. Girton, who was unavailable for further comment, wrote that the "school district will provide counseling to those students who have been touched by his passing."

Gregg was a very nice guy!!! always smiling. he was a very happy guy we all miss him but he will be in are harts forever
