U.S. Army 1st Lieutenant Christopher D. Sayre, 31, son of Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Sayre of Willard, grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Stower and Mr. and Mrs. Fred Sayre, was to be deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom to Baghdad, Iraq beginning February 2007. First Lt. Sayre is currently assigned to the First Infantry Division, 4th Infantry Brigade Combat Team at Ft. Riley, Kan. where he is serving as a Scout Platoon Leader for the First Squadron, 4th Calvary Regiment, Bravo Troop, 1st Platoon. Sayre also has eight years prior service in the Air Force and a son, Joseph Sayre, 7, living in Lincoln, Neb.
