HIGHWAY PATROL Blanca L. Cradenas, 42, of 24 Motson St., Willard, was charged with failure to maintain assured clear distance Feb. 19 after she hit the right side of the vehicle owned by Scott M. Christopel, whose age was unavailable, of Findlay, which was stuck on Townline Road 12 because of the snow.

HIGHWAY PATROL

Blanca L. Cradenas, 42, of 24 Motson St., Willard, was charged with failure to maintain assured clear distance Feb. 19 after she hit the right side of the vehicle owned by Scott M. Christopel, whose age was unavailable, of Findlay, which was stuck on Townline Road 12 because of the snow.

John P. Schmid, 52, of Dalton, was charged with failure to control Tuesday after he fell asleep while heading north on U.S. 250. His car went off the right side and hit two trees.

Veronica L. Abel, 20, of Vermilion, was charged with failure to control Thursday after she went off the left side of Ohio 61 and hit a road sign and fence.

Calvin W. Cok, 79, of 4220 S. Ohio 103, Willard, was charged with failure to yield at a stop sign Friday in the collision with the vehicle driven by Jesse J. Gonzalez IV, 28, of 4204 S. Ohio 103, Willard, at the intersection of Ohio 103 and Bullhead Road. The Willard Fire Department transported Cok to Mercy Hospital of Willard with minor injuries.

Christoper L. Bays, 28, of 825 Myrtle Ave., Willard, was charged with failure to control Saturday after he went off the right side of U.S. 224 and hit a utility pole and a steel beam supporting a billboard sign.

Sherida N. Knott, 23, of 76 Townsend Ave., was charged with failure to control Sunday after she went off the right side of U.S. 250 and hit a ditch. She reported minor injuries, but wasn't transported.

NORWALK FIRE

Assisted North Central EMS with a patient at 1:07 a.m. Saturday at 33 Bouscay Ave. Returned to station at 1:25.

Responded to a stove fire with an uncontrolled flame inside at 10:44 a.m. Saturday at 10 S. Old State Road. There was no fire outside the oven and firefighters shut off the gas. Returned to station at 11:02.

Responded to 16 W. Elm St. to assist North Central EMS in gaining access to the building to help a female patient at 11:28 a.m. Saturday, but paramedics had entered upon arrival. Returned to station at 11:35.

Responded to 33 Bouscay Ave. at 4:36 p.m. Saturday and brought some undisclosed evidence to the Norwalk Police Department. Returned to station at 4:53.

Assisted North Central EMS load a patient into an ambulance at 3:47 a.m. Sunday at 9 Fifth St. Returned to station at 4:29.

Used a small amount of oil dry to clean up an oil spill from an earlier accident at 8:06 a.m. Sunday at the intersection of West Main Street and Valley Park Drive. Returned to station at 8:15.

NORWALK POLICE

Curtis L. Barton, 22, of Cleveland, was arrested Friday on three local warrants at the Mansfield Correctional Institution and charged with failure to pay restitution. He currently is in custody at the Huron County Jail.

A North Pleasant Street resident reported the theft of her front license plate from her pickup truck Friday.

An East Main Street resident reported someone keyed his pickup truck Friday, when it was parked behind a Cline Street business.

Michael D. Murray, 24, of 602 Woodbine St., Willard, was arrested on a failure to appear warrant Saturday as the passenger in a North Foster Street traffic stop. He was released after posting bond.

Jodi Hunter, 34, and Paul D. Russell, 35, both of 2 Manahan Ave., were charged with disorderly conduct in connection with a disturbance at the their home Sunday. Paul said he would leave and was released to a sober person.

A North Prospect Street resident reported damage to her vehicle dashboard from the suspected attempted theft of her in-dash stereo receiver Sunday. Police seized a black-handled paring knife found on the seat next to the stereo to be processed for fingerprints.

A Clyde motorist reported the theft of a CB radio from his tractor-trailer Sunday at a Furniture Parkway business. The culprit gained entry by breaking the passenger side "wing window," but no other nearby parked trucks appeared to be entered.

Christopher M. Pool, 24, of 23 Newton St., Apt. B2, was arrested on a warrant Sunday and charged with failure to pay fines and costs after three officers responded to a Milan Avenue business for a domestic disturbance. He also was charged with obstruction of official business in connection with giving an officer a relative's first name. Pool currently is in custody at the Huron County Jail.

Justin T. Salmons, 18, of 224B E. Main St., was issued a summons and charged with disorderly conduct in connection with a Republic Street business disturbance Sunday. The incident remains under investigation.

A Franklin Street resident reported the theft of her father's 1996 Dodge Neon from Newton Street on Sunday. Dispatchers advised area authorities to be on the look out for the car.

Joseph H. Knudsen, 28, of 168 Whittlesey Ave., was arrested and charged with burglary in connection with a Grove Avenue incident Sunday. The victim reported being assaulted by a suspect who left in a dark full-sized pickup truck. Knudsen currently is in custody at the Huron County Jail awaiting a bond hearing.

An employee of a Furniture Parkway business reported the theft of a CB radio and microphone from his tractor-trailer today. The incident remains under investigation.

SHERIFF'S OFFICE

The state Highway Patrol requested a deputy dispatch an injured deer Friday on Peru Center Road, Monroeville.

A West River Road, Wakeman, resident reported telephone harassment Friday.

Dispatchers received a 9-1-1 call from an area motorist who followed someone in a black Ford Crown Victoria accused of throwing a beer bottle out of the passenger side window while on U.S. 20, Wakeman, Friday.

An area resident requested a deputy check on the well-being of a North U.S. 250 resident because the cell phone call was dropped Friday. The complainant, a counselor, had not been able to contact the woman again.

An East U.S. 20, Wakeman, resident reported a domestic dispute Friday.

Dispatchers sent two deputies and North Central EMS to Brown Road in response to Lifeline advising a patient fell in her locked bathroom Friday.

A West Collins Road, Collins, resident reported telephone harassment Saturday.

An area resident requested a deputy check the bridge at the intersection of Section Line Road 30 and Section Line Road 12, Willard, for a person reportedly threatening to jump Saturday.

The Plymouth Police Department received several reports of several injured deer needing to be dispatched on Mills Road, Plymouth, Saturday.

An area motorist reported a train blocked an Edwards Road, Greenwich, railroad crossing for 15 minutes Saturday.

Dispatchers received a 9-1-1 call about a domestic dispute Saturday on Cook Road, New London.

The Norwalk Police Department reported having an unspecified juvenile in custody Saturday on a Huron County Juvenile Court warrant. Authorities made arrangements for the suspect to be transferred to the Sandusky County Juvenile Detention Facility.

Dispatchers were advised of an alarm activation at a South U.S. 250 business Saturday.

A U.S. 250, New London, resident reported a suspected burglary Saturday.

An employee of an Ohio 18 business reported a suspicious vehicle Saturday.

A Townline Road 162, Wakeman, resident reported a domestic dispute Saturday.

Initiated a traffic stop Saturday at the intersection of Austin Drive and Willard West Road, Willard, with a driver suspected of not having a license.

A Neal Zick Road, Willard, resident reported seeing a female suspect accused of looking in her window Saturday.

An employee of a U.S. 20 business reported receiving a disturbing message on the answering machine Sunday.

An East U.S. 20, Wakeman, resident accused a visitor of stealing her computer from a vehicle Sunday.

An area resident reported losing her cell phone Sunday while looking for her dog on Peru Olena Road.

A U.S. 250 resident reported an unruly juvenile Sunday.

Paul Cole, 46, of 4258 Broad St., Willard, was arrested on a warrant during a Liberty Road, Willard, traffic stop Sunday. He was charged with failure to appear and currently is in custody at the Huron County Jail.

Jennifer L. Wolfenbarger, 33, of 2966 Ohio 99, Willard, was arrested on six warrants Sunday and charged with failure to report to jail on the original charges of passing bad checks and possession of drug paraphernalia. She is serving a 40-day sentence at the Huron County Jail.

An area motorist reported the theft of his CB while his truck was parked at a West U.S. 20, Bellevue, business Sunday.
