The program will feature Rossini's Barber of Seville Overture; von Weber's Andante and Ungarese for viola and bassoon (FSO principals Monica Gregory, viola, and Lisa Wasserman, bassoon); Borodin's Polovetsian Dances; and Beethoven's Seventh Symphony.

Guest conductor, Pierre van der Westhuizen, assistant Professor of Piano at Heidelberg College, will lead the orchestra.

Westhuizen has performed as a pianist with his wife, Sofia Grobler, across the USA and South Africa. They have most recently been accepted into the prestigious PianoTexas/Cliburn International Academy and Festival- the first duo team to have achieved this honor. His conducting experience comes from the Paris Conservatoire, where he was a student of Eric Kayayan (assistant to Arturo Toscannini).
