City ought to care more for local businesses than out of town media

I have decided I am going to start a petition drive in Norwalk to have Linwood Avenue from Main Street to Seminary Street closed permanently. This way, when the Gravelle woes have left us and the out of town media do not need this area for privileged parking we can offer this area as a parking place for the people who actually support business in Uptown Norwalk. It is highly aggravating trying to get around town because of the latest snow storm and to have the city close off a main artery in the main business district is just plain crazy.

Maybe the new leader of Main Street Norwalk can use his influence to get special designated parking for our customers who spend their dollars with us, and for we business owners who actually pay for city services. Shouldn't we be accommodating the local populace more and the "way-out-of-towners" less?

Would anyone care to sign my petition?
