HIGHWAY PATROL No citation was issued immediately Friday after a collision between the pickup truck driven by Rodney L. Giles, 41, of Sandusky, and the van driven by Donald L. Findley, 53, of Rossford, on South Ohio 269. The drivers were heading in opposite directions. North Central EMS transported Giles to Bellevue Memorial Hospital with serious injuries.

HIGHWAY PATROL

Findley, 53, of Rossford, on South Ohio 269. The drivers were heading in opposite directions. North Central EMS transported Giles to Bellevue Memorial Hospital with serious injuries.

Trent W. McCullough, 43, of 5844 Ohio 303, Wakeman, was charged with failure to control Wednesday after he went off the right side of Ohio 303 while heading east and hit a ditch and sign.

Jack C. Wagner, 67, of 15 Johnson Drive, New London, was charged with failure to maintain assured clear distance Wednesday after he hit the rear of the vehicle driven by Ronnie K. Musser, 37, of Mishawaka, Ind., on U.S. 250. Musser had stopped while a vehicle was being removed from a ditch.

No citation was issued immediately Thursday after Dawn M. Collins, 38, of 2401 Collins Road, Collins, was backing from a Dublin Road private property and hit the parked pickup truck owned by the Ohio Department of Transportation.

James E. Decker Jr., 34, of 793 E. Holiday Drive, Willard, was charged with failure to maintain assured clear distance Thursday after the crossing gates of a Peru Center Road railroad tracks came down and Decker went off the right side of the road.

MONROEVILLE PD

Brett M. Adkins, 37, of 1674 Ridge Road, Norwalk, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence, failure to wear a seat belt and a white light emission from the rear of the vehicle violation during a U.S. 20 traffic stop Saturday. Adkins, whose blood alcohol content level tested at .104, was released to a sober person.

NORWALK FIRE

Provided oxygen to an ill female patient at 11:14 a.m. Thursday at 30 N. Foster St. until North Central EMS arrived to assume patient care. Returned to station at 11:28.

Responded to a small fire where "little damage was done" at 12:02 p.m. Thursday at 46 Glover Ave. The residents used a space heater to thaw pipes and the heater ignited the siding and framing members because it was too close to the house. Returned to station at 12:32.

Performed an odor investigation at 5:34 p.m. Thursday at 158 Milan Ave. Returned to station at 5:46.

Responded to a smoke/heat-related smell from a bathroom fan motor, which failed and overheated at 4:16 a.m. today at 66 Norwood Ave. Returned to station at 4:37.

NORWALK POLICE

The Perkins Township Police Department reported having Michael E. McEowen, 30, of Sandusky, in custody on a local warrant Thursday. He was charged with failure to pay fines and costs on a domestic violence conviction and released after his father posted bond.

Scott A. Shuker, 20, of 16782 Township Road 186, Bellevue, was charged with domestic violence in connection with an East Main Street incident Thursday. He currently is in custody at the Huron County Jail.

The Erie County Sheriff's Office reported having Linda Robinson-Smith, 47, of Sandusky, in custody on nine local warrants Thursday. She was charged with failure to pay fines, costs and restitution and currently is in custody at the Huron County Jail.

A West Elm Street motorist reported being involved in a Whittlesey Avenue accident involving a red truck that fled the scene Thursday.

The Sandusky Police Department reported having Ileta Johnson, 28, of 2386 County Road 308, Bellevue, in custody on a local warrant Thursday. She was charged with failure to pay fines and costs on a theft conviction and currently is in custody at the Huron County Jail.

A Woodlawn Avenue resident reported the theft of his Suzuki motorbike Thursday. An officer later recovered the bike on the southside of Woodlawn Cemetery propped against a tree near the pathway.

SHERIFF'S OFFICE

Dispatchers were advised of an alarm activation at a North U.S. 250 business Thursday.

The Greenwich Police Department checked on a disabled vehicle on U.S. 224, Greenwich, Thursday and a sheriff's dispatcher attempted to contact the owner.

An employee of a U.S. 20, Bellevue, business reported two truck drivers had damage to their vehicles Thursday.

A Boughtonville Road, Greenwich, resident reported the theft of unleaded gasoline from an outside tank Thursday.

A U.S. 250, New London, resident reported the theft of her day planner Thursday.

A Megis County resident accused a U.S. 250, New London, resident of threatening her Thursday.
