Norwalk Mayor-elect Rob Duncan has named Mark Schloemer the new safety-service director.

The 26-year-old Schloemer will succeed Linda Hebert, who was not expected to return under the new administration. He will take over the safety-service position after Duncan takes office on Jan. 3.

The director of public service and the director of public safety are combined positions in Norwalk.

Schloemer is a 2004 graduate of Willard High School who earned a political science degree at Ohio Northern University. He currently lives in Columbus but said he plans to move to Norwalk "very soon."

Kat is this what you requested, its only hypothetical, Safety Service Director- Salary $60,000 plus depending on how well the candidate is connected for future job openings in Columbus. Political Operatives only need apply. Experience needed is past employment with political candidates and the A list for key republicans supporters, for the day to day job, we will delegate to department heads and current employees. Sound familiar..... Makes me proud to be a Republican, I am gong to hang my hat on the fact both parties do it.

Marcus, Then I guess we have the perfect candidate. Hypotheticaly. This is getting to be more fun than I imagined. I will just let Rob be Rob, and the rest of you like wise.with your Knotted Kickers and Dampened Depends, carry on oh wise and all knowing ones. Kat

Kat, if I am correct, hypothetically its going to be entertaining watching this train wreck, I hope I am wrong because its could be bad for the city, sounds like you just found out someone else is using your litter box, hypothetically........ PS Thanks alot Kat I had a mental picture of you and your size 48 twisted knickers and soiled depends, really lost me appetite.......

Most of you couldn't run a Popsicle stand, yet you bash a college educated man for accepting this position. Sounds a bit "cart before the horse" doesn't it.

Well I happen to manage a muti million dollar facilitiy so I can and will speak my mind. I wouldnt hire a supervisor without experience, thats just plain irresonsible. And by reading the comments nobody is bashing the man just questioning his lack of qualifications. just because someone has a degree does not make them smart or capable of managing anyone or anything.

arnmcrmn

nor does it make him a bad pick either.

I agree but does Norwalk have to be a proving ground? I hope he does a great job, but we need experience not OJT.

We all have beat this topic into the ground, its time to wait and let the new administration take office and hope they do a good job for the city. I did hear they are moving the council meetings to 3PM start, that will allow the new SSD home before its dark per his mother. Had to take one last shot.....
