HIGHWAY PATROL Tracy L. Trimmer, 19, of 1461 Thomas Road, Willard, hit a deer Thursday on Ohio 162. No citation was immediately issued Friday after Jeffrey L. Bragg, 55, of Sandusky, failed to negotiate an Ohio 99 left-hand curve and went off the right side. The 1996 Kawasaki Vulcan motorcycle overturned in the field, ejecting Bragg who wasn't wearing a helmet, from the bike. A LifeFlight helicopter transported him to St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center with serious injuries. Bragg was listed in critical condition in the intensive care unit this morning. Dean Levan, 32, of West Liberty, was charged with failure to yield the right-of-way while turning left Friday in the Ohio 601 collision with the vehicle driven by Ramiro Vargas, 38, of 4464 Laylin Road.

Dean Levan, 32, of West Liberty, was charged with failure to yield the right-of-way while turning left Friday in the Ohio 601 collision with the vehicle driven by Ramiro Vargas, 38, of 4464 Laylin Road.

Sandra J. Crunkilton, 49, of Marysville, was charged with failure to maintain assured clear distance Friday after she hit the rear of the vehicle driven by Eric S. Crunkilton, 25, of Upper Arlington, who stopped to turn left into a driveway. Eric Crunkilton's car then slid into the rear of the vehicle driven by Juliana M. Guevara, 19, of Sandusky.

Thomas G. Parks, 35, of Columbus, was charged with failure to yield the right-of-way while turning left Friday in the Ohio 13 collision with the vehicle driven by Jason S. Porterfield, 36, of Columbus.

The following motorists hit deer Saturday: Richard L. Kindler, 39, of Columbus, on U.S. 250; and Richard E. Baughman, 65, of 548 Butte St., Willard, on Ohio 99.

John R. Wiles, 28, of 3891 Egypt Road, Willard, reported minor injuries, but wasn't transported Saturday after he lost control of his motorcycle after hitting a deer Saturday on Ohio 99. Wiles, who was wearing a helmet was ejected from the bike, which stopped on the shoulder. No citation was issued.

Assisted North Central EMS with a patient at 10:02 a.m. Thursday at 340 Westwind Drive. Returned to station at 10:25.

Assisted North Central EMS with a patient having difficulty breathing at 11:34 a.m. Thursday at 70 W. Chestnut St. Returned to station at 11:42.

Responded to a natural gas leak and shut off the gas supply at the meter hit by a vehicle backing up at 5:03 p.m. Thursday at 6 Madison St. Returned to station at 5:18.

Assisted North Central EMS with a patient at 6:11 p.m. Thursday at 10 Fourth St. Returned to station at 6:35.

Found no signs of a fire during an open burning complaint investigation at 10:10 p.m. Thursday on West Washington Street. Returned to station at 10:30.

Responded to a pull alarm activation at 2:44 p.m. Friday at 100 Republic St. Returned to station at 2:59.

Assisted North Central EMS with a female patient who passed out at 4:44 p.m. Friday at 89 W. Washington St. Returned to station at 5.

Responded to a mulch fire at 4:50 p.m. Friday beside 26 Whittlesey Ave. Another crew wet down the area. Returned to station at 5:05.

Assisted North Central EMS with a patient in a bicycle accident at 8:08 p.m. Friday at the intersection of South Norwalk and Ridge roads. Returned to station at 9:09.

Dispatchers canceled a call for a crushed hand injury while enroute at 10:06 a.m. Saturday at 80 Commerce Drive because employees drove the victim to Fisher-Titus Medical Center in a personal vehicle. Returned to station at 10:15.

The Huron River Joint Fire District required no assistance with a rollover crash at 1:24 p.m. Saturday at 136 Washington Road. Returned to station at 1:28.

Investigated a small tabletop fire at 4:06 p.m. Saturday at 100 Republic St. There were no injuries or damage to the facility after an open flame from a sterno of a fondue set started a plastic tablecloth on fire, that room occupants extinguished with a dry chemical fire extinguisher. Returned to station at 4:25.

Assisted North Central EMS with a patient who fell at 4:37 p.m. Saturday at 196 W. Main St. Returned to station at 4:55.

Assisted North Central EMS with a patient at 10:47 p.m. Saturday at 32 N. Pleasant St. Returned to station at 11:05.

Removed two victims from a vehicle, using the Jaws of Life for the second victim, and established a landing zone for a LifeFlight helicopter at 2:09 a.m. Sunday at 2917 E. Ohio 61. Returned to station at 3.

Assisted North Central EMS with a patient at 7:06 a.m. Sunday at 78 Wooster St. Returned to station at 7:17.

Found a burned-out dehumidifier and unplugged it during an odor investigation at 12:03 a.m. today at 54 Fruen St. Returned to station at 12:17.

NORWALK POLICE

Amanda L. Schoewe, 19, of Sandusky, was arrested on a local warrant Friday at the Erie County Jail. She was charged with failure to pay restitution on a passing bad checks conviction. Schoewe released later from the Huron County Jail after posting bond that day.

A Walnut Street resident reported the theft of a Gateway computer tower during a burglary Friday. Andrew M. Clark, 18, of 80 Norwood Ave., Apt. 3D, later was arrested and charged with burglary. He currently is in custody at the Huron County Jail.

A Lee Street resident reported two of her driver's side tires were punctured Friday.

Brian E. Pickett, 33, whose address was unavailable, was charged with disorderly conduct in connection with a Whittlesey Avenue incident Saturday.

A Cline Street resident reported her 17-year-old unruly grandson left her home Saturday.

An off-duty assistant post commander with the state Highway Patrol reported seeing someone in a vehicle he was following throw an empty beer bottle into a New State Road yard Sunday. Michelle R. Becker, 36, and Lindsey K. McDonald, 23, whose addresses were unavailable, were charged with open container violations later in connection with a Norwood Avenue traffic stop. McDonald admitted to throwing the bottle.

Charged a male juvenile suspect with disorderly conduct in connection with a Stoutenburg Drive fight Sunday and released him to his father.

A Parkridge Court resident reported a dog bit him on his leg Sunday on Valley Park Drive. Police told the dog owner the animal had to be quarantined and notified the Huron County General Health District.

Doreen L. Schaffer, 52, of 82 W. Washington St., was charged with a barking dogs violation Sunday. Police had responded to the same address for similar complaints twice in the last couple of months.

Charged three female juvenile suspects with curfew violations today after police responded to the report of two male suspects beating on a McGuan Park pop machine. There was no damage to the machine.

Determined a reported overdose report on Spring Street was unfounded today.

Found a West Main Street man who called a suicide hotline today who said he wanted to kill himself by taking a heroin overdose. He was transported to Fisher-Titus Medical Center for medical treatment and a mental health evaluation.

SHERIFF'S OFFICE

Doyle Salyer, 42, of 2801 Smith St., Willard, was arrested on a failure to appear warrant Thursday on the original charge of domestic violence. He released later from the Huron County Jail after posting bond that day.

Requested assistance while pursuing a suspected stolen vehicle Thursday on Coder Road, Attica. Another deputy, the Willard and Plymouth police departments, Crawford County Sheriff's Office and state Highway Patrol all responded. A deputy confirmed it was a 1991 dark green Chevrolet pickup truck belonging to the Huron County Landfill and possibly had been driven through the front gate.

An area motorist reported hitting the back of a pickup truck whose driver turned off the lights Thursday on Baseline Road, Plymouth.

An Ohio 60, Wakeman, resident reported the theft of fire ring and lawn roller Thursday.

Contacted a Willard excavating company about a large amount of mud near a construction site near the intersection of Peru Center and Egypt roads Thursday.

Kevin J. King, 31, of 4280 Pleasant St., Willard, was arrested on a failure to report to jail warrant Thursday. He is serving a 13-day sentence at the Huron County Jail.

Reported making a heroin-related traffic stop Thursday on U.S. 250. No further information was available.

A West Ohio 162, Willard, resident reported a burglary Thursday.

A Section Line Road 30, Willard, resident reported a suspicious pickup truck was parked on the road Thursday.

A Twinbay Trail, Willard, resident reported someone ransacked her home Thursday while she was away for several days.

A Greenwich police officer requested assistance with a male suspect accused of having a weapon in front of a Main Street, Greenwich, business Friday.
