OUR VIEW - Norwalk fire chief faces challenges

As we have said before on this page, one of the most basic and essential functions of government is to protect its citizens. Some of the responsibility for this most crucial duty now rests squarely on the shoulders of life-long Norwalk resident Doug Coletta. Coletta deserves congratulations for his recent appointment as Norwalk fire chief. No position of leadership is ever easy, and fire chief offers a variety of difficult, challenging and often thankless tasks. Add to this the additional burden of having to replace someone as well-respected and long-standing as Robert Bores and it is a lot to ask of anyone.
