The defense attorney for a man charged with growing marijuana said he might file a motion to suppress evidence.

Edward Rhode III, who represents Jonathon T. Auble, said he might hire his own expert to determine what is and isn't marijuana. The defense attorney said he was undecided about having jurors view the suspected crime scene.

Auble, 48, of 982 Timothy Drive, Willard, is charged with one count each of cultivation of marijuana and possession of criminal tools, each in connection with a March 1 incident. He has a Sept. 9 trial date in Huron County Common Pleas Court.

Huron County Assistant Prosecutor Daivia Kasper said there haven't been any plea negotiations, but the state is open to a plea.

Auble earlier posted a $10,000 bond.

i volunteer to help figure out just what is and what isn't marijuana.

Hey MLI- What 'cha ya gonna use as the test module? Bong, papers, pipe or a home-made thinga-ma-jig! Really? People gonna hire someone to say it's weed or not? Another stupid druggie...go to jail, directly to jail, do not pass GO, do not collect $200. Unless you're on the system then we pay you $400...prob how he will hire the "expert"!!

sorry, i cannot discuss it as it's an ongoing circus..

Maybe just use something other than the morons that stole it?

What a joke! Seriously need to find someone to say whether it is marijuana or not? Kinda like a "pocket doctor" wonder who he will come up with for this one!

I think I can figger out whether or not its the funk...but I won't inhale :0

Wow! Why such a big deal? It's just a flower lol. Ok all jokes aside. I get it, the stuff is illegal but let's be real, not for long. Why make such a big deal out of it. Shouldn't they be putting the heroin junkies and dealers behind bars instead of letting them all go with a slap on the wrist? Let's use our jail space wisely. I'm not sure that I have ever heard of a marijuana infused violent act or robbery. Just saying.

Classic example of cops finding a couple of plants and weighing in all of the stalks, dirt, & scrub leaves to try & make the charges seem more like trafficking.

It was probably oregano anyways....

...Colorado ...Washington ...there's a new mother nature takin' over, a new splendid lady come to call --- the Guess Who

Remember all you self righteous uneducated buffoons a drug is a drug!!! Can't punish one and not the other regardless! By the way most of you sicken me with all your knowledge of addicts!! I pray you ignorant watched 1s experience it first hand, maybe then you'd understand, doubt it; can't fix stupid!

Dr. Information

So this guy growing 200 plants is what.......a plant addiction?

I have by watching alot of my best friends growing up get wrapped up in heroin. I was just smart enough to never touch the stuff. A guy I considered a brother got wrapped up in it and I tried helping him and found out there is no help for a junkie when they don't want it. So you are right you can't fix stupid. So I don't know why I'm even trying to explain it to you. I myself joined the army to get away from stupid people such as yourself. Now go crawl in a hole and put another needle in your arm cause I'm sure you're speaking from experience. Right?
