The issue of local workers getting some of the business for projects at Norwalk Commons came up at city council's work session Tuesday. Norwalk Mayor Sue Lesch is hoping the city and unions can work together.

"Maybe you and I need to sit down and talk," she told Harry Brady, representative for Ohio and Vicinity Regional Council of Carpenters. "I would love to see some of our local contractors get some of this."

Street resurfacing was also a topic, but the city may not have enough money to complete all planned improvements. Sidewalk installation and improvements were also discussed at the meeting.

"It is much needed, but it will take a few years," Lesch said.

In other business, council gave initial approval for a resolution for sidewalk improvements in the city.
