Area road closings, delays announced

New project in Huron County starts Wednesday; state route will be closed until end of August.

Here is the ODOT District 3 construction report for the week of Aug. 4:

ASHLAND COUNTY
State Route 60 - ***NEW***
SR 60, one-quarter-mile north of County Road 1754, will close Monday, August 4 for a culvert replacement. The detour route for northbound motorists is SR 60 to US Route 30, west on US 30 to State Route 511, north on SR 511 to SR 60, and reverse for southbound motorists. The road is expected to reopen on August 25, 2014.

State Route 511 - ***NEW***
SR 511, between State Route 302 and Township Road 754, will close August 4 for a culvert replacement. The detour route for northbound motorists is SR 511 to State Route 302, west on SR 302 to US Route 250, northwest on US 250 to State Route 60, north on SR 60 to US Route 224, east on US 224 to SR 511, and reverse for southbound motorists. The road is expected to reopen on August 15, 2014.

CRAWFORD COUNTY
US Route 30
US 30, between the County Road 330 interchange and West Fourth Street interchange in Richland County, is reduced to one lane of traffic as part of a resurfacing project. One lane of traffic will be maintained at all time in each direction. The project is expected to be complete in October 2014.

State Route 61/State Route 309
SR 61/SR 309 (Portland Way South) from Harding Way to Grove Avenue in the City of Galion is closed for southbound traffic as part of the rehabilitation and widening project. Northbound traffic is reduced to a one-way street. Traffic use Harding Way, State Route 19 and State Route 288 as alternate routes. The project is expected to be complete in November 2014.

State Route 598
SR 598, just north of State Route 96 in Vernon Township, is closed for a bridge replacement. The detour route for northbound motorists is SR 598 to SR 96, east on SR 96 to State Route 39, west on SR 39 to SR 598, and reverse for southbound motorists. The road is expected to reopen in mid-October 2014.

ERIE COUNTY
State Route 2 - ***NEW***
SR 2, from the Edison Bay Bridge to the State Route 269 interchange, is reduced to one lane of traffic in each direction during the day for work as part of a resurfacing project. One lane will be maintained at all times. The project is expected to be complete in June 2015.

State Route 4
SR 4, from just north of the Huron County line to Township Road 97, is restricted to one lane of traffic in each direction as part of a bridge repair project. One lane of traffic will be maintained at all times. The project is expected to be complete in October 2014.

US Route 250
US 250, at its intersection with Strub Road in Perkins Township, has intermittent lane closures for work as part of an intersection improvement project. Two lanes of traffic are maintained at all times in each direction on US 250. The project is expected to be complete in November 2014.

HURON COUNTY
State Route 103 & State Route 99 - ***UPDATE***
Beginning Monday, August 4, SR 103 from SR 61 to the Crawford County line, will be restricted to one lane of traffic as part of a resurfacing project. The project also includes SR 99, from US Route 224 to Townline Road. One lane of two-way traffic will be maintained at all times with flaggers. The project is expected to be complete in October 2014.

State Route 547 - ***NEW***
SR 547, just east of Farr Road (TR 33), will close Wednesday, August 6 for a culvert replacement. The detour route for southbound motorists is SR 547 to State Route 99, north on SR 99 to US 20, west on US 20 to State Route 4, SR 4 to SR 547, and reverse for northbound motorists. The road is expected to reopen on August 27, 2014.

LORAIN COUNTY
State Route 57
SR 57, between the City of Elyria’s northern corporation limit to East 36th Street in the City of Lorain, is reduced to one lane of traffic as part of a resurfacing project. One lane of traffic will be maintained at all times in each direction. The project is expected to be complete in November 2014.

State Route 57 - ***UPDATE***
SR 57, between Interstate 90 and the Ohio Turnpike, is shifted on to the outside travel lanes as part of a major corridor improvement project in the City of Elyria. Two lanes of traffic are maintained in each direction along SR 57. Crews are also working on intersections with Leona Street and Tillotson Street along Midway Mall Boulevard. The project is expected to be complete in August 2016.

·         The SR 57 entrance ramp to I-90 west is reduced to one lane of traffic for work as part of this project. Motorists should expect delays in this area.

State Route 58 - ***NEW***
SR 58, just north of State Route 162, will close Monday, August 4 for a culvert replacement. The detour route for northbound motorists is SR 58 to SR 162, west on SR 162 to State Route 511, north on SR 511 to State Route 18, east on SR 18 to SR 58, and reverse for southbound motorists. The road is expected to reopen on August 8, 2014.

State Route 58/State Route 113
SR 58, between the City of Oberlin and State Route 113, has intermittent single lane closures for finalization work as part of a resurfacing project. SR 113, from SR 58 to the village of South Amherst, is also part of the project and paving is expected to be complete soon. One lane of traffic will be maintained at all times with flaggers. The project is expected to be complete by October 2014.

State Route 58/State Route 511
SR 58 and SR 511 throughout the City of Oberlin are restricted to one lane of traffic in each direction as part of a resurfacing project. One lane of two-way traffic will be maintained at all times with flaggers. Motorists should expect delays and allow for extra travel time through this area. The project is expected to be complete in September 2014.

Interstate 90 & State Route 611
I-90, at its interchange with SR 611 (mile marker 151) in the City of Avon, is restricted to two narrowed lanes of traffic in each direction as part of a bridge rehabilitation project. SR 611 is also restricted to one lane of traffic in each direction. Motorists should expect delays and allow for extra time as they travel this area during the construction of this project, and are encouraged to find alternative routes around the project if possible. The project is scheduled to be complete in June 2015.

Interstate 480
I-480, along the north side of the westbound entrance ramp to the Ohio Turnpike, has shoulder closures as part of a noise wall installation project. One lane of traffic will be maintained at all times. The project is expected to be complete in late August 2014.

MEDINA COUNTY
State Route 3
SR 3, one-half-mile north of State Route 606 in Hinckley Township, is closed as part of a slide repair and culvert replacement project. The detour route for northbound motorists is SR 3 to SR 606, northeast on SR 606 to State Route 303, west on SR 303, and reverse for southbound motorists. The road is expected to reopen at the end of August 2014.

State Route 3/US Route 42 - ***UPDATE***
US 42, between Deerview Lane and Huntington Street in the City of Medina, will be reduced to one lane of traffic for work as part of a resurfacing project. Various bridge and pavement work will be intermittent on US 42 and SR 3 as well throughout the City of Medina. One lane of traffic will be maintained at all times with flaggers. The project is expected to be complete in October 2014.

Interstate 76
I-76, from State Route 57 to the Summit County line, has intermittent lane restrictions as part of the I-76 rehabilitation project. All paving work is complete; however, the contractor has miscellaneous work to finalize. Motorists are advised to use caution in this area and watch for slower moving traffic as it merges in to the open lane. The project will be complete in mid-August 2014.

Remsen Road
Remsen Rd, at its bridge over Interstate 71, is closed for a bridge rehabilitation project. Motorists are encouraged to use Weymouth Road, Ledge Road and Ridge Road as alternates around the closure. The road is expected to be closed through mid-September, 2014.

Sleepy Hollow Road
Sleepy Hollow Road, at its bridge over Interstate 71 in Brunswick Township, is closed for a bridge rehabilitation project. Motorists are encouraged to use US Route 42, State Route 303 and County Road 17 around the closure. The road is expected to be closed through October, 2014.

RICHLAND COUNTY
State Route 13 – ***NEW***
SR 13, one-quarter-mile south of US 30 in the City of Mansfield, will close Monday, August 4 for a bridge repair project. The detour route for northbound motorists is SR 13 to East 5th Street, east on East 5th Street to Newman Street, north on Newman Street to East Longview Avenue, west on East Longview Avenue to SR 13, and reverse for northbound motorists. The road is expected to reopen on September 18, 2014.

US Route 30 & Reed Road - ***NEW***
US 30 westbound, at its interchange with Reed Road, will be reduced to one lane of traffic beginning Wednesday, August 6. The entrance and exit ramps with Reed Road and US 30 west will be closed as well through late August. Detour is posted. This work is part of a bridge repair project. The project is expected to be complete in October 2014.

US Route 42
US 42, one-quarter-mile south of Kings Corners Road in Troy Township, is restricted to one lane of traffic as part of a bridge replacement project. One lane of two-way traffic is being maintained with a temporary traffic signal through August 2014.

State Route 98 - ***NEW***
SR 98, between State Route 598 and State Route 61, will close Monday, August 4 for the replacement of five culverts. The detour route for northbound motorists is SR 98 to SR 598, north on SR 598 to SR 61, south on SR 61 to SR 98, and reverse for southbound motorists. The road is expected to reopen on August 15, 2014.

WAYNE COUNTY
State Route 94
SR 94 is closed at two locations between US Route 30 and State Route 241, for two culvert replacements. The first location to be repaired is between Jericho Road and Baumgartner Road, and the second culvert replacement will be just north of Withrich Road. The detour route for southbound motorists is SR 94 to US 30, east on US 30 to SR 241, south on SR 241 to SR 94, and reverse for northbound motorists. The road is expected to reopen on August 15, 2014.

State Route 94
SR 94, from Fox Lake Road to US Route 30A, has intermittent lane restrictions for finalization work as part of a resurfacing project. One lane of traffic will be maintained at all times. The project is expected to be complete in September 2014.
