Brandon Montgomery of North Fairfield, is a member of TV-2 at Ashland University. He is the son of James and Susana Montgomery and is majoring in journalism.

Veronica Geretz, a senior psychology and philosophy major attending Westminster College in New Wilmington, Pa., was the recipient of several academic awards and scholarships announced April 19 at their annual Honors Convocation. A 2005 St. Paul High graduate, Geretz was honored to receive the Mrs. William L. Smith Scholarship, the McCauley Aid Fund Award and the prestigious McQuiston Outstanding Service Award, given annually to rising senior women and men for unselfish service to the Westminster community during their college careers.

Geretz, daughter of Mary Geretz, of Norwalk and Michael Geretz, of Milan, was also inducted into Pi Sigma Pi, a local scholastic honor fraternity whose purpose is to honor superior students. Requirements for membership include a 3.6 grade-point average or better and completion of 80 semester hours. Her maternal grandparents are Vernon and Veronica Kluding of Norwalk.

The dean’s list for The Ohio State University at Mansfield includes the following students for winter quarter, 2008:

Owens Community College graduated more than 550 students at the 29th annual Fall Commencement: Lindsey N. Falter of Bellevue, Marketing and Sales Tech; Clint J. Davis of Clyde, Registered Nurse Program; and  Benjamin L. Haraway of Norwalk, Paramedic-RN Program.

The following are members of the club sports at Ashland University.

Jessica Barre of Greenwich, is a member of women’s club basketball. She is the daughter of Vernon and Cynthia Barre and is majoring in biology. Robin Barre of  Greenwich, is a member of women’s club basketball. She is the daughter of Vernon and Cynthia Barre and is majoring in accounting and finance. Mariagrace Flint of  Greenwich, is a member of women’s club volleyball. She is the daughter of Gary and Cynthia Flint and is majoring in music education. Kendra Kromer of Norwalk, is a member of women’s club rugby. She is the daughter of Gregg and Nita Kromer and is majoring in political science. Michael McKenzie of Plymouth, is a member of ski club. He is the son of Martin and Laura McKenzie.

Dawna DeForest, a native of Norwalk, will graduate during The University of Findlay’s spring commencement on May 3 in the Koehler Center on campus.

DeForest is expected to receive a bachelor of science degree in biology.

DeForest, a 2004 graduate of Edison High School, is the daughter of Pamela Jones, of Norwalk.

DeForest is among more than 760 students who will graduate from The University of Findlay during commencement ceremonies.

Nancy Tovo-Hohman, a native of Norwalk, will graduate during The University of Findlay’s spring commencement on May 3, in the Koehler Center on campus.

Tovo-Hohman is expected to graduate summa cum laude and receive a bachelor of science degree in business management.
