The EHOVE Board of Education gave superintendent Sharon Mastroianni a five-year contract extension. It begins Aug. 1 and ending July 31, 2019.

Mastroianni will earn roughly $119,300 a year, the same figure in her current contract.

The agreement is practically identical, with one exception.

Board members will allow Mastroianni to retire by July 31, 2015. Then, they will legally rehire her to the same position through July 2019, according to a new statement included in the contract.

Mastroianni's annual starting salary is $119,300, with annual pay increases. It includes a $50 travel reimbursement per pay period, a $100 smartphone reimbursement per month or $50 for cell phone.

The contract also includes 15 sick days, three person days and tuition reimbursement for professional development.A story about this subject was published this week in the Norwalk Reflector. Anyone who can raise a Rhodes Scholar who hilariously inspires the crowd at Princeton's graduation ceremony. Ought to get, in my viewpoint----at least--- a 5 year contract to keep inspiring the leaders of tomorrow. ( Personally, I was wondering if 10 years is more in order )
