When James Tolbert left the Ivy Tech Community College library as its librarian, he was looking for a library system valued by its community.

He found it in the Milan-Berlin Township Library District, said Tolbert, who became its director on June 16.

Tolbert, a 29-year-old Ft. Wayne, Ind. native, filled the vacancy left by William Rutger, who left after several years to take another job.

"I can tell that both libraries are both well-loved and well-used within their communities," Tolbert said.
