The Willard Police Department introduced its newest officer to the force Monday.

Craig Ritz, of Milan and an Edison High School graduate, is a full-time road patrol officer.

"It seemed like a good place to be," he said about what attracted him to Willard.

Ritz's law enforcement career includes five years as a full-time seasonal officer with the Cedar Point Police Department. About the same time, he was a reserve cop in Norwalk for two years.

The contract also includes 15 sick days, three person days and tuition reimbursement for professional development.A story about this subject was published this week in the Norwalk Reflector. Why isn't the Police Chief swearing the new cop in ?

Our Police Chief didn't swear in my husband. It was the Mayor.

Is he giving a high five or swearing in?
