Frontier Airlines today announced it was expanding its service out of Cleveland Hopkins International Airport, adding LaGuardia in New York, Dulles in Washington, D.C., and O’Hare in Chicago to its routes.
Service to Washington and Chicago will begin Oct. 1; New York, Oct. 26.
Monday’s announcement expands the low-cost carrier’s service out of Hopkins to 17 nonstop routes.
Frontier Airlines moved from Akron-Canton Airport to Hopkins in 2013, saying it was consolidating its operations and looking for an opportunity to gain a new market.
Frontier’s service out of Hopkins now includes: Atlanta; Dallas; Denver; Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; Fort Myers, Fla.; Las Vegas; Orlando, Fla.; Phoenix; Raleigh-Durham, N.C.; Seattle; Tampa, Fla.; Trenton, N.J.; and international service to Cancun, Mexico and Punta Cana, Dominican Republic in partnership with Apple Vacations.
Seasonal service to Phoenix returns Nov. 14, with two weekly flights, the airline said.
In a news release, Daniel Shurz, Frontier’s senior vice president, commercial said: “We are excited to offer three new Frontier destinations for residents of the Cleveland area. We have already seen how much customers love our amazing low fares and they will find that our newly launched fare structure empowers them to optimize their travel experience for the comfort and value they seek.”
Hopkins Airport Director Ricky Smith said: “We’re delighted to have Frontier return to Cleveland for a third time to announce more new low-fare service for Northeast Ohio travelers. CLE is now the home for the lowest fares in the region.”
Dulles service will be available Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. O’Hare flights will operate Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday. LaGuardia flights will be daily, except Saturday.
