NORWALK FIRE

n Assisted North Central EMS with a patient at 4:35 p.m. Friday at 24 Bouscay Ave. Returned to station at 4:49.

n Responded to a minor crash and absorbed a small amount of transmission fluid with oil dry at 7:38 p.m. Friday at 195 Cline St. Returned to station at 8:16.

n Assisted North Central EMS with a patient at 11:52 a.m. Saturday at 175 Shady Lane Drive. Returned to station at 12:08 p.m.

n Assisted North Central EMS with an ill patient at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at 230 Milan Ave. Returned to station at 2:42.

n Assisted North Central EMS with a patient at 6:11 p.m. Saturday at 13 Olde Village Road. Returned to station at 6:25.

n Assisted North Central EMS with a patient at 3:54 a.m. Sunday at 31 Jefferson St. Returned to station at 4:10.

n Assisted North Central EMS with a patient having seizures at 12:21 p.m. Sunday at 55 N. Pleasant St. Returned to station at 12:41.

n Responded to a two-vehicle accident at 2:49 p.m. Sunday at the intersection of U.S. 20 and Ohio 601, where North Central EMS had assumed patient care. Firefighters had to extract one person from a vehicle. Returned to station at 3:58.

n Responded to and extinguished a $15,000 small kitchen fire that extended into the range hood, but not into the walls at 6:24 p.m. Sunday at 53 W. Elm St. Firefighters removed the range hood, three cabinets and part of the back splash as a precaution. There was minor smoke damage throughout the lower floor and moderate damage to the kitchen. The accidental fire started after a pan with some oil and grease in it was left unattended for too long. Returned to station at 6:59.

NORWALK POLICE

n A Milan Avenue business reported the theft of the fuel signs, worth about $500, March 15.

n A Baker Street resident reported the theft of his silver, 18-speed Shimando bicycle April 7.

n A Wooster Street resident reported Friday the unauthorized withdrawal from his bank account of about $1,208 on April 4, resulting in a charge of insufficient funds.

n Anthony W. Durr, 27, whose address was unavailable, was charged with disorderly conduct in connection with refusing to leave a North Hester Street business Friday.

n The loss prevention manager of a Whittlesey Avenue business reported seeing a 15-year-old girl put two 16-ounce energy drinks in a book bag and leave after paying for another energy drink Friday. She was released to her mother. Police forwarded a report to the Huron County Prosecutor’s office and Huron County Juvenile Court.

n A North West Street resident reported her 14-year-old son didn’t come home from school Friday, but was located later. Police forwarded a report to the Huron County Prosecutor’s office and Huron County Juvenile Court.

n A Milan Avenue business employee reported seeing the driver of a maroon Ford F-150 pickup truck back too far into a parking space Friday and hit the front bumper of a purple 1996 Chevrolet. The driver fled the scene.

n A Westwind Drive business declined to press charges in connection with a shoplifting incident Friday involving a female juvenile suspect because of the low cost of the item.

n Lori M. Thomas, 37, of 30 Ontario St., was arrested on two failure to appear warrants Friday. She currently is in custody at the Huron County Jail.

n A local resident reported her daughter was assaulted at the intersection of East League and Foster streets as she was returning home from school Friday.

n The Mansfield Police Department reported having Teresa J. Bluester, 47, of Mansfield, in custody on a local failure to appear warrant Friday. The original charge was possession of drug paraphernalia. She currently is in custody at the Huron County Jail.

n A North West Street resident reported money was missing from her wallet after a suspected burglary Friday.

n Gregory M. Mathers, 47, whose address was unavailable, was arrested on four contempt of court warrants Friday. He will be serving a 10-day sentence at the Huron County Jail after being medically cleared at Fisher-Titus Medical Center.

n Alyssa N. Napka, 16, of Castalia, was charged with failure to maintain assured clear distance Friday after she hit the rear of the slowing vehicle driven by Jeffrey S. Ward, 42, of Huron, at the intersection of Milan Avenue and Westwind Drive.

n Euna Norwood, 64, of 76 N. Foster St., was charged with a stop sign violation Friday in the collision with the vehicle driven by Tiffany D. Johnson, 22, of 79B Cline St., at the intersection of Milan Avenue and Cline Street.

n The service manager of a Whittlesey Avenue business reported a female suspect, about 23 years old, left without paying for a $44 tire she put on her car Friday.

n A Woodlawn Avenue resident reported domestic violence Saturday.

n A local resident reported being drug by a vehicle Saturday on Whittlesey Avenue.

n North Central EMS requested assistance with suspected alcohol poisoning Saturday on East Washington Street. Paramedics transported the male patient to Fisher-Titus Medical Center for treatment.

n The Sandusky Police Department reported having Zachary J. Mesenburg, 24, of 95 Woodlawn Ave., in custody on three local warrants Saturday. He was charged with failure to pay fines and costs. Mesenburg is serving a 10-day sentence at the Huron County Jail.

n A Bennett Lane resident reported the theft of two air-conditioning units during a break-in Saturday.

n An area resident reported being assaulted Saturday on League Street.

n Senica Yates, whose age and address weren’t available, was charged with driving under the influence in connection with a Benedict Avenue incident Sunday and released. Police seized his license plates and vehicle because it was his third DUI in six years.

n Linda L. Warner, 54, of Concord Court, was served a summons on a passing bad checks warrant Sunday while police were investigating a nearby 9-1-1 hang-up call.

n Investigated the reported of a vehicle that drove through the front yard of an East Main Street home Sunday after apparently skidding off the road.

n Determined a Milan Avenue resident was intoxicated but wasn’t at risk of harming himself Sunday.

n A Milan Avenue resident reported her juvenile daughter was missing Sunday after last being seen Saturday.

n Carrie R. Stoll, 23, whose address was unavailable, was served a summons on a Sandusky Police Department wrongful entrustment warrant Sunday.

SHERIFF’S OFFICE

n Responded to a suspicious vehicle at a West U.S. 20, Bellevue, business Friday, where the owner ran out of gas. The Bellevue Police Department checked the building.

n Provided undisclosed assistance to the state Highway Patrol on Ohio 60, New London, Friday.

n The Willard Police Department reported finding an all-terrain vehicle Friday that had been stolen from Woodbine Street.

n A South Ohio 99, Monroeville, resident requested a deputy check the area after hearing a noise in the basement Friday. The complainant suspected if someone from an earlier domestic dispute was involved.

n A Townline Road 12, Willard, resident reported a possible vehicle theft Friday.

n The Bellevue Police Department requested deputies pick up an undisclosed, arrested male subject and transport him to the Huron County Jail.

n Dispatchers were advised of an alarm activation Friday on Plank Road.

n A West U.S. 224, Willard, resident reported there was a suspicious person sitting in a vehicle in the driveway Friday.

n The Willard Police Department received a report of suspected trespassing at an Ohio 99, Willard, business Friday.

n An Ohio 162, North Fairfield, resident reported the theft of his pocket book, pants and money belt Saturday.

n Donald E. Zeiters, 40, of 1196 Peru Olena Road, was charged with domestic violence. He later was released from the Huron County Jail after posting bond.

n A Tomahawk Drive resident reported several people were driving four-wheelers in the area Saturday.

n A U.S. 224, Greenwich, resident reported suspected trespassing Saturday.

n The Erie County Jail reported releasing Paula A. Hughes, 47, of Mantua, from custody. She was arrested on three failure to appear warrants and a Huron County Common Pleas theft warrant. Hughes currently is in custody at the Huron County Jail.

n A Peru Olena Road resident reported someone removed the skirting of a mobile home Saturday.

n The Norwalk Police Department requested an East Ohio 61 resident contact an officer Saturday.

n A Settlement Road resident reported a shed break-in Saturday.

n Floyd E. Hicks, 41, of 612 Pleasant St., Willard, was arrested on a theft warrant Saturday. He currently is in custody at the Huron County Jail.

n Jennifer A. Hutton, 26, of 119 E. Thomas St., Bellevue, was arrested on a failure to appear warrant Saturday and released. The original convictions were driving with a suspended license and speeding.

n A Ridge Road resident reported there was a disabled vehicle nearby with two hearing-imparied occupants Saturday.

n An East Ohio 61 resident reported the unauthorized use of a motor vehicle Saturday.

n A Townsend Avenue business employee reported the driver of a black Chevrolet Silverado hit a canopy pole and fled the scene Saturday.

n Dispatchers received a 9-1-1 call about an Austin Drive, Willard, domestic incident Sunday.

n A New State Road, Willard, resident reported a domestic incident Sunday.

n A Bullhead Road, Willard, resident reported finding a license plate attached to a tailgate along the road Sunday. The owner’s wife later reported he attended an auction Saturday and didn’t know where he lost the items.

n A North Ridge Road resident requested an ambulance for a relative who wasn’t breathing Sunday. North Central EMS transported the male patient, who didn’t have a pulse, to Fisher-Titus Medical Center.

n A Medusa Road, Collins, resident reported a domestic dispute Sunday.

n An East U.S. 20, Wakeman, resident reported an unruly juvenile Sunday.

n An area resident reported being stranded on Whittlesey Road after being “put out of a vehicle” Sunday.

n Dispatchers received a 9-1-1 call about a fight Sunday on Fitchville River Road, New London.

HIGHWAY PATROL

n No citation was issued immediately Thursday after David W. Hodge, 20, of 105 Park Ave., Plymouth, went off the right side of Boughtonville Road, returned and went off the left side. He returned to the road before again going off the left side and hitting a tree, cable box and utility pole before his 1993 Oldsmobile Supreme overturned onto its top in a yard. A medical helicopter transported Hodge, who wasn’t wearing a seatbelt, to St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center with serious injuries. He was listed in fair condition this morning.

n Mitchell J. Drukemiller, 19, of Nelsonville, was charged with failure to control Friday after he went off the right side of Ohio 60 and hit a ditch.

n No citation was issued Friday after Jeffrey L. Patton, 28, of 191 E. Main St., hit a metal road reflector on Ohio 113.

n No citation was issued Friday after Alice L. Swartz, 68, of 6221 Ferry Road, Wakeman, hit a tree that fell across the southbound lane of Ohio 58 after a severe rain and wind storm.
