JUST IN - Retired military pilot lands in Wakeman field

WAKEMAN -A small plane made an emergency landing Sunday night in a field. A retired military pilot landed the two-person plane in a Wakeman field near U.S. 20 and County Line Road in Huron County after having some mechanical issues, said troopers with the Norwalk post of the state Highway Patrol.

WAKEMAN -A small plane made an emergency landing Sunday night in a field.

A retired military pilot landed the two-person plane in a Wakeman field near U.S. 20 and County Line Road in Huron County after having some mechanical issues, said troopers with the Norwalk post of the state Highway Patrol.

Troopers were called by Air Traffic Control about the emergency landing at 6 p.m.

Neither Larry Diemand, 60, of Chagrin Falls, or his passenger, Victor Pawlak, 65, of Parma, were injured. They were flying from Greenwood, S.C. to the Lorain County Airport.
