Steuben UCC STEUBEN - The Easter celebration of Christ's resurrection continues at Steuben Church. Sunday is the Fourth Sunday of Easter. The scripture lessons, based on the theme "Life Abundant,' are Acts 2:42-47, Psalm 23, 1 Peter 2:19-25, and John 10:1-10. The Rev. Patricia E. Welch, pastor and teacher, will lead worship during the 11 a.m. service. Large print and young peoples' bulletins will be available. Come early for the coffee and tea fellowship before the service!

The people of Steuben Church are gathering supplies for disasterresponse kits.  These include cleanup kits and personal care kits. The UCC’s Ohio Conference Disaster Response Team distributed such kits after the August flood to Bucyrus, Galion, Shelby and other communities throughout northwest Ohio.

n Clarksfield UMC

CLARKSFIELD — This church, located at 5151 Zenobia Road, will have services at 10:30 a.m. Sunday. The Rev. Patty Jo Sheldon’s sermon will be “Salvation’s Way.” There will be communion during the service.

n St. Mary/St. Anthony

The sacrament of the anointing of the sick will be celebrated before each Mass in both parishes this weekend. At St. Mary, the sacrament will be celebrated at 4 p.m. Saturday and 8 a.m. Sunday.  

At St. Anthony, the sacrament will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Sunday. All those in need of healing are invited to participate.

St. Mary will hold a parish bake sale after both Masses this weekend.

n St. Paul Catholic

The church will continue the 50-day celebration of Easter with Wednesday evening prayer at 7 at the church.

“WOW” for widow and widowers will meet in the gathering space at 6:30 p.m. Friday. This is a potluck with meat provided. For more information call the parish office.

n First Presbyterian

Chris Canfield concludes the adult education class, “Faith Lessons on the Death and Resurrection of the Messiah,” at 9:30 a.m. Sunday in the Great Room.

The 2008 confirmation class will assist in leading the 10:45 worship service.

The Rev. Adrian Doll will give the morning sermon, “Abundant Living.” The “Habitat Worker’s Lunch” takes place in fellowship hall immediately following worship.  Everyone is invited to attend as church members celebrate the kickoff of the house build project with Habitat for Humanity.

The new Crown Ministries class begins at 6 p.m. Sunday in room 112.

The community is invited to attend National Day of Prayer breakfast at 6:30 a.m. May 1 with guest speaker, Mayor Sue Lesch. Call the church office to make a reservation at (419) 668-1923.

n St. Mary

CLYDE — This church, located at 615 Vine St., Clyde, will have its annual rummage sale from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. April 24; 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. April 25; and 9 a.m. to noon April 26. Drop-off day is 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. April 23. Big items must be approved. Call (419) 547-9354 for details.

n St. Peter Lutheran

This Norwalk church will be receiving new members Sunday and there will be a reception following the service. The senior youth will be having a soup lunch and silent auction at 11:30 a.m. Sunday. The lunch is all-you-can-eat homemade soup with breads and muffins. The cost is $5 for adults and $3 for children ages 3 to 11.

Eleven women from the Lutheran women’s Bible study will be attending the ELCA women’s spring assembly today at St. Mark’s Lutheran in Fremont.

n First Baptist

WAKEMAN — This Bible church of Wakeman, located at 4382 Butler Road, meets for Bible Study at 9:45 a.m. Sunday. The adult Bible study, from Ephesians 2:1-10, will be, “Eternal Salvation by God’s Sovereign Grace alone, through Faith alone, in the Lord Jesus Christ alone, to the Glory of God alone.”

Catechism instruction, based in part on “The 1689 London Baptist Confession of Faith,” with scripture proofs, will resume this Sunday during the 10:30 a.m. Bible preaching and worship service.

The pastor’s message from Philippians 1:1 will be, “How does a sinner become a saint according to the Bible, or what is a saint?”
