Mill could come to Willard, bring 21 jobs

Eighteen full-time and three part-time jobs could come to the city if Kent-based Star of the West Milling Company brings a new flour mill facility here.

City manager Brian Humphress said the city recently received an application from the company for a property tax abatement through the Enterprise Zone program. The program is an economic development tool administered by municipal and county governments that provide real and personal property tax exemptions to businesses making investments in Ohio.

The Willard City Schools Board of Education recently voted unanimously to approve the tax abatement application. Humphress said that means the city would be able to approve the abatement by the end of the month.

However, Humphress said the mill coming to Willard is not a "done deal."

tax evasion for 21 jobs.....hopefully they hire local people.

You're confused, it's tax ABATEMENT. Lots of companies across the country are granted tax ABATEMENTS so they will relocate to the area. Tax EVASION is when you don't pay your property taxes and claim "civil disobedience" after you get caught.
