Moomey, 22, of 66571 U.S. 20, Lot 63, Wakeman, was charged with failure to control and a hit-skip violation Saturday after his pickup truck overturned while heading south on Ohio 60. The truck stopped off the right side in a field. He reported minor injuries, but wasn't transported.

HIGHWAY PATROL

n Zachary D. Moomey, 22, of 66571 U.S. 20, Lot 63, Wakeman, was charged with failure to control and a hit-skip violation Saturday after his pickup truck overturned while heading south on Ohio 60. The truck stopped off the right side in a field. He reported minor injuries, but wasn’t transported.

n Walter G. Horn Jr., 86, of 3695 Sandhill Road, Bellevue, was charged with failure to yield the right-of-way in the collision Tuesday with the vehicle driven by Carol A. Linn, 64, of Shelby, at the intersection of U.S. 20 and Sandhill Road.

n The following motorists hit deer Wednesday: Michelle R. Shepherd, 31, of 6 High St., New London, on Ohio 162; Jay C. Thomas, 60, of 6176 Ohio 162, New London, on Butler Road; Janet M. Ward, 55, of 110 E. Main St., North Fairfield, on New State Road; and Jamie L. Schiro, 34, of Shiloh, on U.S. 224.

n No citation was issued Wednesday in the U.S. 250 collision between the vehicles driven by David A. Culley, 51, of 2601 Milan Road, Milan, and Donald S. Adams Jr., 22, of 5810 U.S. 20, Lot 86, Wakeman. Scott is accused of failing to yield to Culley’s pickup truck as he pulled out of a gas station and then fleeing on foot.

M’VILLE POLICE

n A West Main Street resident reported being the victim in a hit-skip accident Tuesday. Timothy A. Stoll, 26, of 85 Baker St., Monroeville, was charged with improper backing, failure to stop after an accident, colliding with an unattended vehicle and driving without a license. He said he fled the scene because he was scared he would return to jail since he is on probation through Erie County Common Pleas Court on a theft conviction. Kelly J. Burrows, 30, of the same address, was charged with obstructing official business.

NORWALK FIRE

n Assisted North Central EMS with transporting a patient to Fisher-Titus Medical Center at 10:02 a.m. Thursday from 196 W. Main St. Returned to station at 10:52.

n Responded to a fire alarm activation at 1:07 p.m. Thursday at 66 Norwood Ave. Four burlap bags containing coffee beans being dried on low ignited a drum in the commercial dryer. An employee extinguished the fire, that melted the window seal in the laundry area, with a chemical fire extinguisher. Returned to station at 1:35.

n Assisted North Central EMS with a patient at 1:13 p.m. Thursday at 129 Benedict Ave. Returned to station at 1:31.

NORWALK POLICE

n A Minard Place resident reported a Direct TV cable box, an X-Box 360 PlayStation, seven video games, a surround sound system, a pair of Air Jordan tennis shoes and a hamper full of children’s clothing were missing from her locked home since Wednesday.

n John J. Kent, 36, whose address was unavailable, turned himself in on a warrant Thursday and was taken directly to Norwalk Municipal Court.

n Dispatched a sick raccoon with one round from the animal control rifle Thursday on Bennett Point.

n The Huron Police Department reported having Catrina L. Denoon, 28, of Sandusky, in custody on a local warrant Thursday. She was charged with failure to pay fines and costs. Denoon is serving a 10-day sentence at the Huron County Jail.

SHERIFF’S OFFICE

n Performed a traffic stop for an undisclosed reason Thursday on Bullhead Road, Willard, just west of Ohio 99.

n An area motorist reported seeing an unoccupied green van sitting off Peru Center Road, Willard, near the railroad tracks north of Ohio 103 with its four-way flashers activated Thursday. The van was gone when a deputy arrived.

n Dispatchers were advised of an alarm activation Thursday at South Central Elementary/Middle School.

n Dispatchers received a 9-1-1 call about a suspected prowler Thursday on Breit Road, Monroeville.

n A Section Line Road 30, Willard, resident reported vandalism Thursday.

n An area motorist reported there were four small children playing near the roadway Thursday on U.S. 20, Monroeville.

n A Ferris Lane resident reported being threatened Thursday.

n Dispatchers received a 9-1-1 call about a neighbor dispute Thursday on Hartland Center Road, Collins.

n An area motorist reported finding several needles laying beside South Ohio 99, Willard, Thursday.

n An East U.S. 20, Wakeman, resident reported an unruly juvenile Thursday.
