Council votes sending natural-gas program to ballot

Norwalk voters to decide issue.

Norwalk city council recently adopted legislation that will place a natural-gas aggregation program with opt-out provisions on the November ballot.

If voters approve the program this fall, they will begin to receive a discount on their natural-gas bill, depending on which program they enroll in.

The natural-gas program will be administered by the Northeast Ohio Public Energy Council (NOPEC).

The city already participates in NOPEC's electric aggregation plan.
