Sales tax remains Huron County bright spot

Sales tax collection continues to cruise along in Huron County.

"I'm very pleased," Auditor Roland Tkach said about the numbers recently released. "We are 3-percent ahead of budget."

The latest figures reflected sales tax collected in February.

I'm trying to figure out how sales taxes are doing so well, when everyone says its such a depressed area and people don't have money.

Simple, prices on everything have been going up, so everyone pays more sales tax!
