Fourth-grade teacher Amy Krichbaum said she thinks it's great that two former Norwalk teachers of the year have been named Friends of Education.

East Main Street resident Judy Emmons and Phyllis Zieber, of State Street, were honored Tuesday at the Norwalk City Schools board of education meeting. Emmons is a retired Maplehurst Elementary kindergarten teacher while Zieber retired from Norwalk High School.

A story about the pair was published in Wednesday's Norwalk Reflector.
