HIGHWAY PATROL Kevin J. Crawford, 28, of 168 High St., New London, was charged with going left of center in the Ohio 60 collision Wednesday with the vehicle driven by Bonnie J. Witmer, 45, of Ashland. Five hours earlier, Crawford was charged with failure to control after he went off the right side of Ohio 4 and hit a ditch. Drugs and alcohol aren't considered factors. NORWALK POLICE

Troy R. Wolfe, 34, whose address was unavailable, was served with a summons on a warrant Friday and charged with failure to file a city income tax for 2005.

Heard an argument while responding to a loud music complaint on Wooster Street. An officer found Larry J. Smith, 45, of 67 Wooster St., hiding in a back hall when he checked a home to make sure the involved woman was safe. Smith was arrested on 10 undisclosed warrants and currently is serving a 30-day sentence at the Huron County Jail.

A Milan Avenue business employee reported someone drove off without paying for their gasoline Friday.

Jennifer L. Myers, 26, of 16 Macintosh Road, was arrested on a warrant Friday and charged with failure to report to jail March 18. She is serving a 27-day sentence at the Huron County Jail.

A North West Street resident reported the theft of her in-dash JVC compact disc player, two visor CD caddies with 40 homemade CDs and a necklace from her 1994 Pontiac Grand Am on Friday.

Jeremiah M. Meacham, 19, was arrested on two warrants Saturday and charged with failure to appear for a contempt of court hearing on the original charges of disorderly conduct and underage consumption. He was released after posting bond Sunday at the Huron County Jail.

Preston J. Mankin, 18, whose address was unavailable, was issued a theft summons in connection with a Whittlesey Avenue shoplifting incident Saturday.

Three females training for track reported finding a brown wallet without any money but several credit cards and the owner's Social Security card Saturday in the road near Whittlesey Avenue and Franklin Street. Police contacted an Adams Street resident who lives with the owner.

A 16-year-old girl involved in a North Hester Street domestic dispute requested to speak to a mental health counselor about having suicidal thoughts Saturday. She was released to her mother.

A Jefferson Street resident reported the theft of his black Cobra radar detector from his unlocked vehicle Saturday.

Dispatched a rat found in a North Prospect Street resident's trash can Saturday with one round from the animal control rifle.

Responded to a suspicious persons complaint Sunday on Baker Street. Ian S. Poland, 18, of 39 Jefferson St., was arrested on a falsification summons and a fleeing and eluding felony warrant. He currently is in custody at the Huron County Jail. Douglas Kropp, 19, whose address was unavailable, was issued a summons on underage possession/consumption and littering.

A Minard Place resident reported the theft of two compact disc visor cases with about 20 homemade CDs from her unlocked 2003 Volkswagen Jetta on Sunday.

An East Main Street resident reported being threatened Sunday.

A North Hester Street resident reported someone broke two windows on her 2000 Toyota Echo on Sunday.

Dispatchers received a 9-1-1 hang-up call Sunday from East Seminary Street. A dispatcher called back and the resident accused a male suspect of breaking a window and fleeing on foot. Robert D. Adkins, 26, whose address was unavailable, was charged with disorderly conduct and released to his sober sister.

A local resident reported her son was involved in a fight Friday at South Central Elementary/Middle School.

An employee with Firelands Counseling & Recovery Services requested a deputy check on the well-being of a Zenobia Road resident who said she took several pills during a telephone call Friday.

An Ohio 61 resident reported a burglary Friday.

A Zenobia Road resident reported a hit-skip accident on private property Friday.

A West Collins Road, Collins, resident reported the theft of a PlayStation on Friday.

The Norwalk Police Department received a request from an Old State Road resident who wanted a suspect arrested on several Mansfield Police Department warrants Friday.

Dispatchers were advised of an alarm activation Friday on Baseline Road, Attica.

An Ohio 601 resident reported being threatened Friday.

The Greenwich Police Department received a report of suspicious people in a vehicle Friday from a passing motorist on Ohio 13, Greenwich.

An Old Military Road, Willard, resident reported telephone harassment Saturday.

An employee of a West U.S. 224, New Haven, business reported someone drove off without paying for about $35 worth of gasoline Saturday.

The Willard Police Department reported having Tysan B. Baldridge, 19, of 554 Butte St., Willard, on a contempt of court warrant Saturday. The original charge was unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. Baldridge currently is in custody at the Huron County Jail.

An area resident moving into a Division Lane, New London, address accused the former occupant of attempting to steal her belongings Saturday.

A local resident reported being threatened. The Huron County Sheriff's Office later located the undisclosed male suspect and charged him with domestic violence.

Forwarded a report to the Huron County Prosecutor's office about five juvenile suspects accused of throwing rocks and breaking a window on the east side of a West Maple Street building.

The Willard Fire Department provided mutual assistance for the Attica Fire Department.

Patricia J. Collins, 54, of 47 State St., was charged with failure to yield in connection with an accident at the intersection of Crestwood Drive and Fort Ball Road.

A Crestwood Drive resident reported someone threw his pots and pans around the inside of his residence.

Jarryel S. Salazar, 25, of 520 W. Emerald St., Willard, was charged with failure to confine vicious dogs in connection with a neighbor reporting his dog was attacked by two stray pit bulls.

March 21

A Woodbine Street resident reported a fight in the neighborhood involving two male suspects.

Gary D. Lyons, 41, of 4065 Egypt Road, Willard, was charged with disorderly conduct and carrying a concealed weapon in connection with an incident at the intersection of North Main and Sandusky streets.

A Woodland Avenue break-in remains under investigation.

A Park Street resident reported someone damaged her vehicle by throwing beer bottles.

A Woodbine Street resident reported being assaulted.

A North Conwell Avenue resident reported her cell phone was stolen.

Danny Hicks, 39, whose address was unavailable, was charged with domestic violence in connection with a Woodbine Street disturbance.

March 22

Responded to an underage consumption complaint on Woodbine Street, but didn't find any suspects.

Nicholas Kilgore, 21, whose address was unavailable, was charged with persistent disorderly conduct in connection with a Hayes Street incident.

Released a 13-year-old boy to his mother after a curfew violation at the intersection of Euclid and West Pearl streets.

Derek M. Depinet, 18, of Republic, was charged with underage consumption in connection with being a passenger during a traffic stop.

A Woodland Avenue resident reported domestic violence.

An East Howard Street resident reported a domestic disturbance.

Released Kenneth C. Stumbo, 19, of Greenwich, to the Richland County Sheriff's Office on an undisclosed warrant.

Crystal Gonzalez, 20, of Willard, was arrested on an undisclosed warrant.

March 23

Released several juvenile suspects to their parents in connection with stealing solar lights on South Main Street. The victim later reported vandalism and requested restitution be made.

An area motorist reported someone hit his tractor-trailer during a Walton Street business hit-skip accident.

A South Myrtle Avenue resident reported the theft of a sign from her yard.

An area motorist reported vandalism to her vehicle parked on Crestwood Drive.

NORWALK FIRE

Responded to an open burning complaint at 4:30 p.m. Friday at 125 Benedict Ave. and had the owner put out the fire that was bothering a neighbor. Returned to station at 4:45.

Responded to an open burning complaint at 5:33 p.m. Friday at 167 Whittlesey Ave. The wood burner in a shop area appeared to be legal and in good shape. Returned to station at 5:45.

Assisted North Central EMS with a patient at 8:45 a.m. Saturday at 53 W. Washington St. Returned to station at 8:55.

Used a small amount of water from a bottle to extinguish a small fire at 12:26 a.m. Sunday at the far west end of a Pleasant Street gazebo. Firefighters said the fire looked like it was intentionally set with a small can of lighter fluid. The Norwalk Police Department is handling the investigation. Returned to station at 12:45.

Responded to an alarm activation at 12:59 a.m. Sunday at 50 Newton St. Returned to station at 1:50.

Assisted North Central EMS with a patient at 1:58 p.m. Sunday at 55 N. West St. Returned to station at 2:08.

Checked the gas furnace during an odor investigation at 5:34 a.m. today at 16 W. Elm St. Firefighters found natural gas wasn't getting to it and told the owner to have repairman look at the furnace. Returned to station at 6.
