A local woman was arrested on drug-related charges Tuesday after a traffic stop in the city.
Lee Ann Howell, 24, of 2968 Ohio 99, Willard, was taken into custody by Huron County sheriff's deputies and charged with possession of heroin.
Howell approached a vehicle stopped by police in an alley near Emerald and Woodland streets and told deputies a purse inside the vehicle containing a syringe, spoon with heroin residue and tie-off belonged to her.
Howell admitted she used those items the day before to abuse heroin.
A passenger in the stopped vehicle, Nevada J. Rocker, 29, of 1219 S. Norwalk Road, was issued a summons for possession of marijuana as a bag of suspected marijuana was found in Rocker's pants pocket.
Authorities also confiscated a marijuana roach found in the ashtray of the vehicle and rolling papers located between the front driver and front passenger seat.
Howell was transported to the county jail.
Deputies used the K-9 unit to originally detect the presence of drugs in the vehicle.
Detective Sgt. Josh Querin and Detective Eric Bardar made the initial traffic stop and arrest, while Chief Deputy Ted Patrick also assisted at the scene with transport.
