A Monroeville High School senior has been charged with failure to control following a head-on collision Thursday afternoon with a truck on Peru Center Road, Huron County Sheriff Deputies confirmed.

The Monroeville student, Jude Doss, walked out of the car with a few scrapes and the driver of the truck, owned by Solid Foundations of Bellevue, wasn't injured.

"I went left of center then lost control," Doss said. "I'm all right. I'm very lucky."

The accident occurred just south of Ohio 113.

Doss was heading south on Peru Center when he went left of center and hit the front of a concrete pump truck. The impact pushed the car into a tree and demolished the front of the vehicle.

"Seat belts and air bags (saved his life)," said Huron River Joint Fire District Assistant Chief Doug Long.

The whole Monroeville School walked away?

Soooooooooooooooo......."I went left of center then lost control,"
Were you distracted by something or just not paying any attention? My money is on the 'phone'...or the radio dial. Teenagers rule.

Was on my way out of town and saw this accident. In the kids defense, where it occurred is a pretty tricky spot for a young driver. Ravine on one side and traffic on the other. Not to mention the curve in the road... could have been much worse really.
