Roth wins state photography award

The banquet will take place at the new Nationwide and Ohio Farm Bureau 4-H Center. Roth will also be honored at the national level from Nov. 28 through Dec. 2 in Atlanta. The honor entitles Roth to be a part of a week-long National 4-H "Club Congress" as an Ohio delegate, while in Atlanta. He will meet and work with other 4-H members from all over the nation, while at the club congress.

Local teenager Justin Roth has won the Ohio 4-H photography achievement award.

He will receive the honor June 3 at the Ohio 4-H Youth recognition banquet, along with the other 23 category achievement winners and some 22, 4-H scholarship winners. The banquet will take place at the new Nationwide and Ohio Farm Bureau 4-H Center.

Roth will also be honored at the national level from Nov. 28 through Dec. 2 in Atlanta. Roth, 17, is a 12-year member of the Ridgefield Country Kids 4-H Club and the son of Russell and Jean Roth of rural Norwalk. He is a junior at St. Paul High School.

Roth's photographs have won numerous awards at the county fair and have went on to compete at the state level.

At state, Roth he has won several outstanding of the day awards and top 20 photo awards. His photos have been chosen for exhibition at the state 4-H center, and the state fair.

At the national level, he has had several chosen for display at the National 4-H Center. Roth has put together a Power Point presentation that he presents to help promote the 4-H program at county wide schools. He is also working on a county wide 4-H photography calendar to promote and highlight the 4-H program. He has helped other learn the art of photography by teaching them with in his own 4-H club and at the county level also. For his last year in 4-H, next year he plans to put together a team at each county school to help promote the 4-H program using his power point presentation.

Roth will exhibit his work in the upcoming Firelands Art League Show.

He said he is excited about the honor and is looking forward to the trip to Atlanta and working with other 4-H members from across the nation!

In school Justin carries a 3.7 GPA and is on the honor roll. After graduation he plans to attend college to become a professional photographer and own a studio in the near future.
