Multi-agency enforcement results in traffic stops, arrests.

A joint multi-agency enforcement effort took place April 24 on the U.S. 20 corridor in Huron County.

The joint effort included the collaboration of five law enforcement agencies, including the police departments of Norwalk, Monroeville, Bellevue and Wakeman, and the Ohio State Highway Patrol’s Norwalk post.

The effort took place to focus on traffic and criminal patrol efforts. All agencies formed a joint partnership to initiate the effort in their respective jurisdictions.

The mission of the U.S. 20 corridor detail was to bring law enforcement agencies together in an effort to address concerns regarding traffic safety and criminal activity on U.S. 20 and the roads that flow into it. All agencies involved brought a variety of resources to the table. The sharing of those resources was invaluable to the overall mission of the detail in making the roads and communities safe for all motorists and residents in Huron County.

Here is a summary of the efforts of the agencies involved:

Traffic: 68 traffic stops, 38 enforcement contacts, one driving under suspension arrest, one fictitious registration citation, two seat belt citations, one reckless operator citation (road rage) and 30 warnings.

Criminal: three criminal arrests, one felony drug arrest, two summons.

Kudos. Occasionally, on my commute up 250, I'm seeing an increased presence as well. I may be in the minority, but I get tired of watching people fly by me like I'm standing still while going the speed limit.

in this case, just being in the county is a criminal indicator..

True that. "Let me see your papers"....Half were let go.

Where was the SO in this? The fact is they don't work with other agencies.

CAST THE FIRST STONE

police enforcing laws is a story ? i did not know that..thanks

IT'S THE HEROIN AND DRUGS NOT TAILLIGHTS AND THE DRAMATIC CRIMINAL INDICATORS. Waste. Traffic tickets in the middle of a heroin epidemic, in touch with reality much?

Agree!

"Traffic and Criminal Patrol efforts." For those of you who don't know, most drug interdiction (stopping drugs traveling for thos who don't know what interdiction means) takes place via regular traffic stops. Leave policing to the police.

Interdiction is a military term for the act of delaying, disrupting, or destroying enemy forces or supplies en route to the battle area....close enough. Good job officer, keep up the good work.

I am sure most people reading this article have a hard time pronouncing half the words let alone know their meaning.
