State trooper involved in minor accident

Both drivers refuse treatment at the scene.

A two-vehicle accident involving an Ohio State Highway Patrol trooper Tuesday afternoon resulted in minor injuries.

The crash occurred on Butler Road at Zenobia Road in Clarksfield Township.

Steven Lasky, 46, of Wakeman, was driving a 1999 Chevy Malibu. He received minor injuries and refused treatment at the scene. He was wearing his seat belt.

Trooper Steven Basci, 40, of Norwalk, was driving a 2013 Dodge Charger marked patrol car. He received minor injuries and refused treatment at the scene. He was wearing a seat belt.

Basci was traveling north on Butler Road and Lasky was traveling east on Zenobia Road. Lasky failed to yield from the stop sign and pulled into the path of Basci, according to the report.

Basci’s car struck Lasky’s vehicle on the right side.

There is no indication of alcohol or drug involvement and the crash remains under investigation.

Basci was not responding to any calls and operating under normal patrol speeds, according to the report.
