A Plymouth man accused of pawning his deceased mother's ring has waived his extradition to Kentucky.

That means Nicholas Carnahan, 23, of 4250 Ohio 61, can have Kentucky authorities pick him up from the Huron County Jail.

He is charged with theft by wrongful taking through Greenup County, Ky. Circuit Court. The complaint was filed Monday in the Huron County Clerk of Court's Office.

Huron County Public Defender David Longo said the only word he could think of to describe the suspected offense was "lame." He said Carnahan pawned his deceased mother's ring, but later recovered it and returned it to his father.

"He's a little surprised by this," Longo added.

A further hearing, if required, is scheduled for May 5.
