The Lefty Grove Baseball League lost another friend recently.

On April 8, longtime league supporter William Ball died at 71.

"We lost a friend in Bill," league commissioner Scott Ford said. "Bill is up in heaven right now, umpiring games."

In recent months, the Norwalk community and Lefty Grove also lost Bob Zinn and Wanda Finch.

Ford shared many memories of Ball for a story published recently in the Norwalk Reflector.
